currently working a piece about aligote so, naturally, had to pick up. this is a gorgeous lesson in how much the varietal can perform in the right hands. plenty of luscious lemon curd and hazelnut happening here but the acid is so profound and well integrated it's hard to parse whether the fruit set is overripe or underripe. i associate this quality of tension with much higher end white burgs and yet this bottle was on the shelf for $49. what a bargain and what a lovely wine. no reason to not buy this. — a month ago
have been gobsmacked by just about every '22 from théo and this is no exception. would certainly benefit from a few years in the cellar but still—drinks like top dollar morgon and the nose could pass for pommard in a blind. outstanding. — 3 months ago
pal of mine just whipped this out from a cabinet in his living room. porcinis, cracked leather, cherries, gorgeous tannin structure. so generous and expressive. feeling like one lucky piece of shit — a month ago
if all entry level burgs had this level of finesse, the world would be a better place. seamless oak integration—you really only feel it texturally and with a whisper of baking spices on the finish. the palate is all slightly desiccated but still vibrant red fruit. exciting, elegant and made my friends smile. — a month ago
nose like an orchid growing out of a filthy ashtray. palette was waxy and energetic. nice one. — 3 months ago
platonic ideal. stylistic precision. near perfection. — a month ago
lacks the precision and riesling-like tension i've come to associate w de moor but who cares—this shit was so much fun. blend of SB, chard and skin contact aligoté. i imagine everything that was left over after harvest? super expressive, ripe, and nutty with plenty of acid to keep everything in check. what's not to love? — a month ago
sub $50 white burg that absoluuuutely drinks like white burg. oak is a little clunky here but this was a joy. mineral, lemon curd, some vanilla bean, the gang is all here. — 3 months ago

right in the pocket. singing. desiccated and leathery but still so much freshness and vibrancy. had alongside one of the best meals of the year. my haters are furious — 18 days ago
