This was absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of opulence for me. Dense and rich with a beautiful supporting acidity, fine tannins, and an impressive finish (even with my sinusitis working up). Cassis, cream, tobacco leaf, spice, somewhat smoky in the palate, and a touch of pyrazine to finish. Drinking well now, but will definitely see improvement with time.
Notes: 51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. 2012 had low yields for Ch Palmer. — 8 years ago

Lemon grass, honeysuckle, tropical fresh fruit on the nose. Classically Southern Hemisphere Sav Blanc (51%) aromas. Palate has more weight, hinting at the Semillion (49%). Acidity and weight are in balance. Finishes well with lemon and grapefruit notes. — 10 years ago
Quite good, oxidized, Caramelized but still crisp and clean. — 11 years ago
Love this great off-dry Western Victoria Riesling... Such a brilliant example of the style. — 12 years ago

Tasted at Chateau
51% M, 39% CS, 5% CF, and 5% PV
Deep purple, no sign of age, compact rim. Youthful.
Fruit forward, dominated by red currant, underripe raspberry, red cherry. Baking spices and new wood smell.
On the palate, surprisingly approachable. Med plus tannin but softened already, med full body, dry. The midpalate really needs to fleshen out. Slightly lacking. Finish on nutty new oak.
Time will tell if this will turn out to be in line with a line up of superb recent wines from this classic house. 89+? — 8 years ago
First of the two blind Zinfandel blends paired with our turkey burgers and black bean veggie burgers. Deep garnet red. A bit herbal on the nose with dark fruits that became stronger with air. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and light plus to medium bodied. Rich and plush attack, drinking its best between hour one and two. Notes of strawberry jam, boysenberries, blackcurrants, bramble berries, blue fruits, asian spices and a touch of cocoa. Finish lingers for quite a bit. Drink till 2019.
This Prisoner was the first vintage under their new ownership (no longer with Orin Swift). This vintage is made up of 51% Zinfandel, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Syrah, 7% Petite Sirah, 3% Charbono, 1% Malbec and 1% Grenache. Needed twenty minutes or so to open up but beautiful fruits after that. — 8 years ago

Alright wine geeks, chew on this one: '51 Kokour Massandra from the cellar of a Russian czar. — 12 years ago
Had this a few years ago, disappointed that I opened this wine early so I opened one now. Deep Ruby red, with aromas of dark fruit and spice. On the palate, the blend of 51% Cab Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, and 12% Cab Franc, had blackberry and plums with notes of cacao and gentle smoky/toasty oak. The wine spent 16 months in 40% new French and American oak. Full bodied, nice balance and well integrated soft tannins. Time will continue to enhance this wine. Very nice! — 8 years ago
The 1855 classification recognized the quality of Duhart-Milon's soil by ranking it as the only 4th growth wine in Pauillac. A blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot. Had this a year ago, it’s still nice! Wonderful red fruit aromas and subtle spice scents. On the palate blackberry and currants, pepper notes, tobacco and cacao, complex, generous acidity, silky tannins on a lingering finish ending with mineral notes, Wow! — 8 years ago
2016 Lonesome Springs Cuvée, Marsanne/Viognier blend. Pale yellow white in color. Floral and tropical fruit notes in nose. Lemon, pineapple, guava notes in mouth, rounded mouthfeel, solid acid and Marsanne character on finish. Great with pecorino and chive popcorn — 8 years ago
Leather and smoke on the tongue, aromas of green pepper. Nicely balanced and not too boozy or over oaked. Great with steak. — 9 years ago
Mid Ruby. A complex blend being 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec. Aromas of Cigar leaf and Mint. From an Aussie perspective like Coonawarra. On the palate restrained berry fruit, minerality and low oak influence. A good expression of new world Cabernet blend which opened up with air giving a delightful perfume. Bought this at the winery in 2012 in Stellenbosch. We see very few quality South African wines like this one in Australia, and from reading Wine Spectator, a limited amount in the USA. Do they drink all the good stuff themselves? One of the 1001 wines. — 9 years ago
Smells like winter ❄️ menthol, apple, toasty, creamy, touch of honey on the nose. The taste lemongrass, rose petal... Gives you a silky tongue 🌹😛 — 11 years ago
51% Cab Franc, 32% Merlot and 17% Cab Sauv. The Cab Franc really shines and the Merlot and Cab Sauv really round it out nicely. The fruit is ripe but not over ripe and there is something distinctly Tuscan about it. — 11 years ago
Still drinking strong. $51 / 93pts — 12 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Opened my last 2010 bottle for my b’day! The 1855 classification recognized the quality of Duhart-Milon's soil by ranking it as the only 4th growth wine in Pauillac. A blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot. Had this twice in a year, it’s still nice! Wonderful red fruit aromas and subtle spice scents. On the palate blackberry and currants, pepper notes, tobacco and cacao, complex, generous acidity, silky tannins on a lingering finish ending with mineral notes, Wow! — 7 years ago
