Nose has the classic porphyry aromas and are just wonderful. It’s so expressive. Such mineral precision. Insane clarity of wet stone aromas. Nose is a bit quiet as well as it’s too cold. Palate is hauntingly elegant with unreal rockiness and sappy minerality. Not much fruit right now but the underlying architecture is perfect. Stunning purity. This is a rock star. Literally. What intense minerality on the finish but so so elegant. Just stunning. Some apricot now on the nose. Crystalline purity and just so well made and everything in its place. A stunner. — 3 years ago
Rich, round and intense while also showing great focus and purity. Showing really excellent now with minimal reduction, great power, concentration and precision. The ripe vintage is definitely evident, but there is just enough cut to keep it all in balance. And the balance and focus becomes even more evident as it unfurls in the glass and in the decanter. Ripe stone fruits, lemon-lime, white flowers, exotic spice and a touch of honeysuckle. Mineral infused finish with great length and tension. Dancer is a true star in Burgundy and I’m glad to find it on the terrific wine list at The NoMad Hotel! — 5 years ago
Highly concentrated with superb precision, offering flavours of orange peel, honey and candied fruit, with a crisp citrus component underneath. A great wine. — 6 years ago
Broke my mid-week alcohol fast for this...
Nose displays honey, straw and oak. First thing that hits you on the palate is honied almonds and white stone fruits. A little too much oak treatment leads to a lack of precision. It has a curvy posture, with very little acid to counterbalance the oak. Good showing, even though the oak monster showed its ass. At the right price, it’s a buy. — 7 years ago

Tasted blind. This bottle was purchased directly from the winery on allocation and stored in a cold cellar since release. The ruby color is frightfully deep, almost black. Intense aromas with a laser-like precision of blackcurrant, crushed rocks, orange rind, chocolate, black cherry, mint, cloves and a dash of bourbon vanilla introduce the 2007 Screaming Eagle. The palate is a complete knockout: Full-bodied, extremely concentrated with pixelated, polished tannins, built like a skyscraper with an almost never ending finish. This is a massive Napa Cab, but despite all its power, it still retains freshness and elegance. The top of the cork reads "fly high and proud". Drink now until 2040. — 3 years ago
Excellent wine from Costco — 4 years ago
Extremely smooth and velvety. Would highly recommend. Full bodied but still felt light on the palate. — 4 years ago
My third and last bottle. The previous bottle was enjoyed in 2015 at which point it still had a laser-focused precision with sky-high acids and pumping energy. Now, the wine was more rounded and developed; the nose highly mineral, smokey, and with vanillin, citrus, and liquorice notes; the mousse was creamy and still vibrant but clearly less than in -15; taste was fruit forward with citrus, peach, and apples, and with brioche and some tertiary flavours like trouffles and green herbs. Very elegant and the best I’ve had to date. Happy New Year. — 5 years ago
Slightly sweet, smooth finish — 6 years ago

Beautiful nose. Wow. Honeyed and so ripe but with incredible purity and detail. Tangerine and a hint of sponti. Beautiful minerals. A sense of depth. Wow. What a palate. Freak show. That acidity is LIT! 🔥🔥. Wow, such depth and elegance with super precision but also that loose vibe this wine always has. Lovely, long finish. Stunning. Holy sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit. Been drinking lots of Cabernet Sauvignon. Was in mood for a Pinot noir. Well worth the price. Soft and light with the cherry and vanilla offset with a peppery note. — 3 years ago
From Costco Houston for about $10. Pleasant, a bit on the sweet side but would buy again. — 4 years ago
Tried this about a year ago, tried again, aged nicely! HALL Wines is located in Napa Valley and employs organic small-vine viticulture and precision winemaking. ‘16 is a blend of 98% Merlot and 2% Cab Sauv. Very deep Ruby with rich berry fruit aromas, complex but not overpowering adding a touch of floral and spice. On the palate rich fruit, raspberry and cherry flavors with sweet vanilla, cacao and some oak. Smooth tannins, great balance, long finish, a joy to drink. — 5 years ago
Clean & clear as a mountain spring, with salt, crushed rocks, a whiff of herbs and some reductive naphtha. On the palate this is linear & clearcut yet with precision & depth, good pure yellow fruit and lemony acidity following. Finishes off with, again, a salty mineral streak.
I find the Alzinger Rieslings much better than his Veltliners. And they improve immensely with time. This is still a baby and will continue to grow, even though it’s ‘only’ a Federspiel.
Delicious stuff. — 6 years ago
Scharzhofberger is one of the most famous vineyard sites in all of Germany. This south-facing site is situated at an elevation of 180-280 meters with vines planted on very steep slopes with mineral rich soils formed from grey devonian slate. These characteristics are reflected beautifully in the wine, as the 2016 Scharzhofberger Kabinett Riesling displays an incredible combination minerality and brightness. This continues to dazzle as it shows incredible purity and elegance, with captivating aromatics of sliced apples, lime, orange zest, white florals and crushed slate nuances which all come together beautifully in the glass. This is every bit as impressive on the palate as it shows remarkable focus and precision with outstanding overall balance as it leads up to the succulent, mouth watering finish. While the 2016 is absolutely sublime today, it should also have a brilliant future ahead and continue to drink beautifully for years to come. — 6 years ago

Bottle 2 of my bday wine tasting, brought by Lauren and Jack. Delicious! Blackberry, limestone, vanilla. Supposedly licorice but I didn’t get that. — 3 years ago
