Great fill, first 2/3 of the cork came out via Ah-So, last 1/3 via waiters’corkscrew (and no residue pieces left in bottle), lovely honeyed, buttery, saline, mineral and dried fruit aromas and flavors, spot on balancing acidity, not youthful but extremely fresh and lively on the palate, better than the 1986 Clos and 1989 Valmur opened 1-2 months ago, I remain extremely impressed by the 1989s, long, lingering finish, absolutely outstanding 1er Cru Chablis!! — 14 days ago

Clos Saint‑Jacques is often hailed as the “Musigny” of Gevrey‑Chambertin. It combines the signature power and structure of Gevrey with the elegance and finesse of Vosne‑Romanée, and Armand Rousseau’s bottling has always been remarkably consistent.

2004 was a challenging vintage—a weak year in which many grapes failed to reach full ripeness. Now that it has entered its drinking window, it opens up quite nicely. This is not a flamboyant style; instead, it leans more toward herbaceous notes and bay leaf, with hints of florals and red cherry. It has a mineral quality, yet without the saline or briny character often found in other Gevrey vineyards. The acidity is well‑balanced. The overall bouquet is delicately fresh, reserved rather than exuberant, yet persistent, and it doesn’t evolve dramatically over time. — a month ago

Medium light lemon yellow , touch of green . Quite a lot of struck match , quite young and reductive on the nose . Some ripe lemon hints , smoky yellow fruits , peach , apricot and honeysuckle. On the palate this is quite intense and structured with the citrus and yellow fruits mixed with a chalky notes . This has good length and extract and refreshing acidity with creamy mouthfeel , after a while becoming even more mineral and fresh with an intense finish. Showing pretty young still , needs a bit of time to wake up but lots of potential . Even better in 5 years or so and will last well a further 5 - 10 . — 2 months ago

Hard to find Extra Brut in 375 ml’s where I shop and seek online. This is very solid always. Bouzy also one of my favorite places for champagne.

For a Pinot that is 80% of the blend here, you sure get lots of green apple, golden apple & apple cider. There is noticeable tangerine, white citrus blend-lemon, lime & both grapefruits. Ginger & ginger-ale, sea fossils/spray, limestone marl w/ bits, bread dough to baguette crust, graham cracker crust, malt, volcanic minerals w/ash, lighter caramel, butterscotch candy, vanillin, frothy cream, white orchids and spring flowers, lively, zippy acidity, well; toned, structured, balance with a beautiful two- minute finish that lands on minerals & spice. — 2 months ago

Beautiful, whip-smart Northern Rhône Syrah with blackberry, violets, granite and, after air, a gorgeous olive note running through both the nose and palate. The texture is sleek and refined, with excellent freshness, fine tannins and a long, elegant finish.
