Morey St. Denis Chambolle Musigny, Côte De Nuits

Domaine Dujac

Morey Saint Denis Pinot Noir 2020

Shimmering medium ruby, the 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis Village from Domaine Dujac shows well at the moment, mingling aromas of red and black cherries, blackberries, earth and a dash of cumin spice. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture and good depth, this elegant Village finishes surprisingly long and will surely benefit from extended bottle aging. Drink from 2024 until 2045. — 10 days ago

Domaine des Lambrays

Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2020

Perhaps the finest vintage of the new millennium, the 2020 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru currently shows extremely well. Taking the first nose is almost like walking into a garden with a wide array of flowers, followed by precise aromas of predominately red fruits, orange rind, sweet spices and wood smoke. This is a full-bodied, hauntingly elegant, majestic Clos des Lambrays with ultra fine-grained tannins and a long, lingering finish. Drink from 2028 until 2050. — 23 days ago

Seemed to be more shut down & lighter weight in body than the 20 Chambolle I had last night — 15 days ago

Damn. Just damn. Floral, elegant, and earthy with red fruits and excellent minerality and length. I can smell this wine for ages. Great. — 21 days ago

Domaine Dujac

Bonnes Mares Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2008

Lunch in Beaune. The 2008 Bonnes Mares from Domaine Dujac reveals drop dead gorgeous aromas of ripe blackberry, dried red and black cherries, fennel, delicate wood smoke with a dash of dried herbs and violets. The full bodied palate offers excellent levels of fruit concentration, fine grained tannins and a silky mouthfeel. I‘ve always loved the restrained, classic 2008 vintage character in Burgundy, of which this wine is a beautiful example. Drink now until 2038 — a month ago

Monts-Luisants Morey Saint-Denis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2014

Light gold; lightly floral nose with mineral and pear; fairly broad with apple and quite noticeable pear on the palate. A new wine for me, was I mistaken to miss citrus? Anyway, it pleasantly over delivered out of magnum. — 7 days ago
