Quintessential french st esteph - 130 aed at duty free — 9 years ago
Dark fruit -baked plum, tart raspberry, baking spices. Has a mossy, earthy quality, with the flavor of soft white mushrooms and cedar. Pet a Bedlington Terrier while drinking this. — 2 years ago
Nice, medium bodied easy drinking deliciousness — 5 years ago
Big Red Bordeaux yet so approachable. A nice blend from one of my favorite houses - an almost toned down version due to the nice blend, mature red fruit and that trademark French soil sings through. You could live on just this and some cheese. — 5 years ago
A bargain! After 6 hours decanting (by accident), the wine is dark ruby with inky purple notes and a high viscosity; the nose - the best aspect of this wine - is packed with red cherries and dried plums and figs, earthy leafy leather, sage, and light tobacco; taste is somewhat disjointed although the tannins stick with the right intensity to the right oral surfaces and the acid, fruit profile and finish are great. Had with Greek souvlaki. — 7 years ago
Easy drinking juicy dark fruit, medium body and booze and enough flavor intensity to be pleasing. A nice dusting of cabernet sauvignon pencil shaving on the finish. Great versatile wine for pleasing a crowd. — 8 years ago
Really surprising after 12 years. Excellent — 8 years ago

Great wine! Had this wine about 2 years ago. It changed dramatically in the glass over the course of 45-60 minutes. Can't wait to open the other bottles in the future... Near future. :) — 9 years ago
Smooth, dense and homogeneous mouth. Black fruits blackcurrant, blackberries, prunes, roasted mocha, vanilla, tobacco, undergrowth notes.

Wow I don’t drink a lot of Bordeaux but this was for a very special birthday and a big bottle seems in order ... it lived up to all expectations ... filled with many savory aromas in flavors like mushrooms, beef jerky, soy sauce but then also the trademark graphite/pencil lead quality. At 19 still seemed to have some years left to go before peaking!
Happy 4th 🇺🇸 — 5 years ago
So much going on with this Saint Estephe... Pencil lead, bacon fat, black current, blackberry, black cherry, red pepper flakes, dried tomato, peperroni, bell pepper, leather, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, lilac.
Chalky tannins (med+) and mouthfeel. Very complex. Good vibrant acidity. Kinda mindblowingly complex actually. Yeah, I could write a short story about this wine. — 6 years ago
