Tres bon ! — 11 years ago
2022 vintage. Owned by the Estager family since 1902. Not easy to find info, it seems to be an estate with 32 hectares of vines, planted with 50% Merlot, and equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A bit shy on the nose.Good concentration, not very complex, a little more extracted and less refined compared to Petit Bocq 2022 tasted alongside. Good value though, and the 15% abv. goes unnoticed. — 7 months ago
5/2024. Very nice blend. Full of flavor. Sits well on the palate. Good finish. Paired well with the grilled bone in pork chop at Mr. Friendly’s. — a year ago

Needs a bit more cab franc to give more of the earthy flavour. — 11 years ago
Mature aromas of redfruits and earthy notes, along with some of the famous “1980s Cordier funk,” at age 38 this still somewhat primary-fruited gem has many more years ahead of it still, though drinking beautifully tonight and has shed the drying tannins that showed in many 1986 Bordeaux, amazing bargain in the circa $15 price range, very fine!! — 8 months ago
Smooth, dense and homogeneous mouth. Black fruits blackcurrant, blackberries, prunes, roasted mocha, vanilla, tobacco, undergrowth notes.
Bouche onctueuse, dense et homogène. Fruits noirs cassis,mûres, pruneaux, torréfiées moka, vanille, tabac, notes sous-bois. — 3 years ago
Wow I don’t drink a lot of Bordeaux but this was for a very special birthday and a big bottle seems in order ... it lived up to all expectations ... filled with many savory aromas in flavors like mushrooms, beef jerky, soy sauce but then also the trademark graphite/pencil lead quality. At 19 still seemed to have some years left to go before peaking!

So much going on with this Saint Estephe... Pencil lead, bacon fat, black current, blackberry, black cherry, red pepper flakes, dried tomato, peperroni, bell pepper, leather, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, lilac.
Chalky tannins (med+) and mouthfeel. Very complex. Good vibrant acidity. Kinda mindblowingly complex actually. Yeah, I could write a short story about this wine. — 7 years ago
A bargain! After 6 hours decanting (by accident), the wine is dark ruby with inky purple notes and a high viscosity; the nose - the best aspect of this wine - is packed with red cherries and dried plums and figs, earthy leafy leather, sage, and light tobacco; taste is somewhat disjointed although the tannins stick with the right intensity to the right oral surfaces and the acid, fruit profile and finish are great. Had with Greek souvlaki. — 9 years ago
Full of rich juicy cherries and currants with hint of vanilla. Very modern in style with soft tannin. Super approachable Bordeaux wine. — 9 years ago
Très bon Saint Estèphe malgré l'année. Relativement doux, rond en bouche et tannique. A plu aux femmes. — 10 years ago

Ruby , with a ruby pink rim . Slightly cooler , tobacco , grafite edged Summer fruits, with red cherry and spicy blackberry, cassis . Blackcurrant , spicy red cherry , some grafite , tobacco hints . A little drier and more linear on the palate than the Lalande Borie , but also shorter and a little less complex on the medium minus finish . Drink now and over the next 5-8 years . — 5 months ago
