Baden. Pinot. Kaiserstuhl. An old vulcano in the rhine valley. GG. Warmest area in Ger. figs grow there. Undertasted, ratet und non existent in the US. A suitcase import. Under imported. And overpriced when they are imported. Bought this for 20 bucks in 2012. Brown tinge. Orange zest nose, brown tinge. In the glass blueberries, bark, touch crushed marble, cardamom, hint turmeric, cherries and black tea. Great juice! Might go back May 2024. — 3 years ago
Nose has ripe peach, under-ripe peach, dehydrated nectarines, fresh green apple peel, faint petrol note, turbinado sugar and crushed marble.
Palate has sweet peach, ripe tangerine, dried pineapple, sweet oak with moist sandstone pulling up the long finish.
Decanted 2H+
Drink 2027-32.
This bottle is moving more in an Auslese direction than prior experience; a beautiful wine!
Paired to Chicken Adobo (Milk Street recipe) and I'm convinced that coconut milk ingredient dishes are a perfect match to Riesling. — 4 years ago

Rotten eggs on the nose. Once this blows off this turns out to be an excellent and interesting Burgh like Pinot for less money. Terrific aromatics. Cherry, earth, touch crushed marble, hint meyer lemon, some spice, just a hint of all-spice.Only 12.5% yeah! — 2 years ago
Their 1st vintage. Excellent and at its peak. Drink up. Very Burgundian. Dark cherries, touch blackberry, cardamom, bark, black tea, orange zest, crushed marble, In my book one of the best they made since inception of this Jadot Oregon outfit. — 2 years ago
Tough vintage - might have been the worst in 10 years. Yet at 6 years this came around nice. I heard a lot of folks had concerns. Earth, bark, orange 🍊 rind, crushed marble, black currants, lime juice and a hint of cherry. So even this very basic version did quite well after 6 years. 12.5%. — 3 years ago
I am not a fan of this negotiant. But 15 is a great vintage and at a 50% discount for 45$ I gave it a shot. Especially since normal people are priced out of Burgundies with a name. Nose of subdued but mostly cherry . Quite tannic at first which resolves after 15 min and then really mellows out. Cherry 🍒 crushed marble let it breathe - then the overt cherry blows off - asian spices, orange peal, black tea. Nice for a very reasonable price. For the money this is really good! If you are in San Diego County the Meritage in Encinitas has may be a case left. — 6 years ago
Very nice Bordeaux style blend that’s cab franc dominant in a good way. Saint (like Marble) has a good wine list — 8 years ago
Still catching up on the Henschke tasting last weekend. This was another Cuvée new to me. Brief notes. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Light Pass in the Barossa. Matured in 8% new and 92% seasoned French oak. Not overly “Cabernet “. Barossa is best suited to Shiraz IMO. Black cherry and fresh herbs. Not a standout when one is surrounded by other outstanding Henschke reds. — 2 years ago
Much less interesting then the 2018. Which I reviewed just recently. This wine is elegant with mostly red fruit, cherry (but not in your face) hint of black currant, Plenty of acidity. Touch bark. Subdued crushed marble. May be i am tasting this too young. But over all this just does not strike me as a wine which challenges my palate. Compared to the 2021 E&M‘s from Baden. This is very blah. — 2 years ago
Marble & Rye house Bordeaux. Nice — 5 years ago
Interesting! A waft of strawberry on a warm tar road, after licking marble. Bright. Not shy on the elixir. — 6 years ago

What a delightful light red. If you close your eyes, you’re drinking a white. Soft fruit, light acidity and a sweetness that’s fresh. I had it at room temp this time but I could see putting it on ice in the summer months. — 6 years ago
12.4% alc. On Randy Fuller’s recommendation, I got a bottle of this, paired with blackberries, marble cake baked by my 11-year old niece, and some Salt & Straw ice cream - Coava coffee & Cloudberry craque (cacao nibs). Inky purple. Blueberry and blackberry aromas and flavors, slight seed bitterness, sweet tea and elderberry cough syrup in finish. Tough to assess but we liked it. More desserts, more dessert wine. — 8 years ago

Addictive and absolutely stunning. Super elegant and lean when compared to the Buntsandstein from E&M. Ethereal cherry 🍒 light as air. Crushed Marble. Essentially like a Premier Cru Chambolle Musigny from the slopes of the black forest. Tannin’s fully resolved. Drink Up!!!! I would not keep this longer. From here on out it will loose its luster. — 2 years ago
