Nose is a bit tight now but has unreal spice. Cardamon, clove, spicecake, vulcanized rubber, melting road tar, dried roses, and whoah levels of spice. But it will expand as it aerates. The palate is where it is at right now. Wow. Wow. Elegant and delicate but so so deeply fruited with glorious mid to early season cherry and so much energy and freshness and just off the charts mineral complexity. What a finish with gorgeous velvety tannins and a sicko finish that takes over your mouth. Tannins are initially drying but so juicy and refined and will velvet out as that what these wines do. Let’s see where air takes this. Now after an hour the nose is heaven. Wow. Roses galore. Soy. Spice has integrated. Gorgeous clear minerality. Wow that palate is just incredible now. Deep, rich and sweet but unreal finesse, sweet tannins and just the most perfect balance. Just stunning. 9.5 to 9.6. — 7 days ago
