Bouche par un fruité qui mouille, qui s’accroche et s’accroche encore, laissant une finale à la fois nette, substantielle et légèrement saline. — 2 months ago

Tucked atop a steep hill in the Langhe is the small village of Barbaresco, home of the GAJA winery. Medium lemon color with aromas of delicate tropical, stone & citrus fruits with herb floral notes, blend of Vermentino and Viognier. On the palate rich pear and peach flavors, nutty herb and spicy notes. Long finish ending with fruit, herbs and generous mineral character. Nice! — 2 months ago

Loved this wine!! — 2 months ago
Beautifully aging nebbiolo. My first example from this producer. Everything I like in this kind of wine. Sour red cherry, mint, rose, sweet tobacco. Finish goes on and on. Tannins well integrated and still plenty of acid. Classically made with no heavy oak as far as I can tell. — 4 months ago

Another wine I bought from Garagiste but then was shocked when it came in that it was 15.5%. So I waited to have it with a very rich Italian braised chuck roast, and hoped that the body and alcohol would cut through the richness of the food. Bingo! It was an inspired pairing. The nose is complex, with macerated plum, leather, humus, baking spice, violets. In the mouth the alcohol is prominent, but the flavors are relatively intense and not jammy. This really needs a rich braised meat dish to not seem jarringly out of balance. I’ll give it a 9.1, but with that caveat. — 20 days ago
