My father has a case of these 1983 BV in his father’s wine collection. Have sat undisturbed for a few decades since my grandfather passed. Opened this for Easter dinner if braised lamb shanks. Cherries, sandalwood and white pepper on the nose. Lovely expression on the palate, with notes of red and black fruits, overripe cherries and brown sugar. Very well done - burger and wine night at Capital Grille, Paramus.

Yes, Sauvignon Blanc in Burgundy! In fact, the St Bris appellation was previously called 'Sauvignon de Saint-Bris' (before 2003). And you can ONLY use SB or Sauv Gris fruit, + max 12.8% ABV. Love the terroir and plan to show it blind just to mess with my Sancerre obsessed friends. — 10 years ago
