After having Savart’s “Expression” 4 months ago I was excited to try this. Hints of oxidation, nuts and apples combine in a very accessible mixture. Where I was disappointed was in the lack of intense acidity and complexity. Not as vinous as I had hoped for. — a month ago
Closed and timid at first, but soon displays a broad complexity, wonderful vinous aromas of red fall apples, raspberries and ripe peach, plenty of toast and crushed stones and a wee note of arrack and a almond nuttiness.
Dry palate, high and well balanced acidity gives the wine a proud posture, the fine beaded and round mousse is very persistent and interwoves the intense fruit profile and rings out in a long finish.
Double up day 2! More nuance and complexity one day later
