Ripe, polished, round, suave, definitely not an old school Petite Sirah but a super modern style, undeniably VERY tasty, but struggling a bit with reconciling the flavor and particular the structural style with 1970s/1980s Petite Sirah, I’m confused?!?! — a month ago
Blend of 94% Merlot, 5% Petite Sirah, 1% Malbec, aged for 19 months in French oak (35% new), deep Ruby with aromas of ripe black fruits, spice and sweet notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and currants with baking spice, vanilla, oak and cacao notes. Fine tannins, long savory finish ending with fruit, floral, cacao and vanilla oak. Tasting well now, good for another 5+ years in cellar. — 3 months ago

Ok, 2014s turning 10 so gonna be exploring these. RP says 2014s are ready so bring it on!
Fantastic nose. It doesn’t jump out of the glass like TRB’s 4 winds from last weekend (I could smell that forever) but this one is a statement of elegance. Violets, black fruit, graphite, and mocha.
Great mouthfeel at the beginning. Fruit is wonderful, chocolate, but I will say that I’m here too early. Tannin sticking out - a little greenness to the tannin as well. Ends with drying pucker. I was hoping I’d be past that on 10th birthday. Just speaks to a better rating in the future. Would think 3-5 years until another one? — 5 months ago
Love this Riesling from Long Shadows. You’d easily think Walla Walla Riesling would be a hot sugar bomb like your mom due to the climate but not so here. 12.5abv, nice acid, a wee bit of residual sugar. Dig it. — a month ago
Beast of the East vs. Best of the West….taste off
VA Monticello Petit Verdot against a Cali Napa Valley Cab.
Pairing: American Wagyu Strip, Home Fries, Mushroom Ron Zacapa 23 glaze.
As much as I love my Napa Cabs, the edge went to the PV. 93 - 92. — 2 months ago
Dark ruby color, blackberry and light spice notes to chocolate and vanilla. Very smooth presentation throughout. Light chalk and tobacco notes at the very end. — 3 months ago
Pale yellow gold. Smells of flowers and very slightly of candied fruit. Mineral on the tongue, followed by pineapple and spice. Butter and tangerine come forward as the chill comes off the wine. — 3 months ago
At 10 years old, smooth Tannins. Nice fruit. Perfect Cabernet with steak. February 2024. — 4 months ago
Great expressive Cabernet Sauvignon Black Cherry, Plum, Tobacco, notes of smoke and cocoa. Tannins are smoothing out nicely. — 4 months ago

Purchased at the winery years ago. The cork broke off. Strained the wine out. Taste delicious. Some oats but not overwhelming. Balanced acidity as well. Great with cheese! — 3 months ago
Super herbaceous. Thyme, soy sauce , lush fruit, fig, Jammy, not a ton of acid and tannin on the 2020. Definitely more savory Vs the FAY which I also love. Big long finish that lingers. 14.8% — 4 months ago
