Mazzoni's 2015 Ghemme Ai Livelli is gorgeous. Floral and savory notes infuse the bouquet with notable presence. Light on its feet, yet wonderfully layered, the 2015 is super expressive right out of the gate. There's quite a bit of complexity, while the tannins are nicely mellowed by time. That makes for an incredibly appealing wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2022)

Awesome. Perfect pairing with grilled bone in lamb sirloin, mixed green salad with olives, feta cheese and Brianna’s French vinaigrette, roasted broccoli and Seeds of Change quinoa and brown rice — 7 years ago
Dark ruby and aromatic with notes of cherry. Ultra smooth. 100% Nebbiolo. 91 — 8 years ago
Delicious Italian red. Hint of tobacco flavor. Great with a lamb pasta. — 9 months ago
Ghemme is my sentimental favorite of the Novarese DOCs. I had a really good one when I was in my last year of college and starting my wine journey. It generally is one of the heavier and, sometimes, earthier of the group. This one is very good. Still youthful, it takes time to open up, but slowly reveals dark cherry, mahogany furniture, crushed minerally gravel, and roasted meat scents. Medium full, it’s got concentrated and tight dark cherry fruit, very fine-grained but abundantly chalky tannins, and very nice acidity. No rush to drink this. Enjoy over the next 4-5 years, maybe longer. — 2 years ago

Really nice. — 6 years ago
Deep, damson mid season cherry, licorice, anise, rustic nose, juicy, complex, huge furry tannins. Well made, decent length, balanced and pretty, elegant. Needs air.
On day 2 this is transformed. Ripe and rich with wonderful stylishness and pure deep fruit. Terrific wine. — 6 years ago
Old-school Italian wine that is perfect for pizza. Somewhat thin and alcoholic but typical of wines served in Italian restaurants in Brooklyn when I was small. Flavorful and a perfect match to the marinara sauce of New York Patsy’s Pizzeria or Joe & Pat’s. — 9 months ago

Solid. A bit smokey. Medium tannins. Opens up after 30 minutes. — 4 years ago
Tried at PJ treehouse with Colin. Love. Perf red — 4 years ago
Very close to my idea of a desert island wine. At 13% it has more smooth edges but that lovely thread of acidity common to its more expensive & jagged Vallana cousins. Dark red fruits, violets, tree bark. Juicy too, the tannins are pretty integrated. Skurnik importer. — 5 years ago
