Leclisse Lambrusco di Sorbara

Prob should say it’s dry! So Lambrusco doubters will read further but otherwise…Party on! But in a wild yet mature way. It leapt out of the bottle (alas for the spilt bubbles) but I don’t blame it. Holed up in a bottle, it was ready to party like a vaxxed waxxed anyone in 2021. Aside from the exuberant head (insert more jokes about vax n wax here) it was rife with raspberries, orange blossom and citrus peel. But that mineral core keeps it grounded. Party animal? Yes at first but you could also take a hike or something and enjoy each other’s company as much. — a day ago

Cantina di Carpi

NotteBianca Emilia Brut Sparkling Blend

The nose is subtle but nice, with notes of apricot and crisp apple driven by a gentle minerality. The flavor is slightly muted, but enjoyable, with notes of pear, Deen apple, a slight custard creaminess, and gentle acidity with a slight wet rock finish. Very good for a relaxed brunch or a perfect mimosa pairing. Good for what it is! — 17 days ago

Vino di Tavola Dinavolo 2017

Complex and powerful wine. Buckwheat honey, tea, medicinal herbs, sauerkraut, apricot jam, grapefruit. Well structured, even vibrating, powerful tannins, almost full-bodied wine with evolving aftertaste. Great as always. — 3 days ago
