On the palate this is all about the texture , quite round but enough balance , blanched almonds , peach. Waxy notes . Good length . Popped and poured; enjoyed alongside Texas BBQ on the plane home. The 2005 “Hommage a Jacques Perrin” pours a deep purple with a ruby rim; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with mostly dark fruits: mixed brambles, black cherry, animale, star anise and black pepper, garrigue and stony earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This continues to be ever so dense but paired admirably with the BBQ. Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, strawberries, spices and chocolates.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very tasty GSM blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Elegant and nicely balanced. Tangy and interesting.

Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Already drinking nicely, even by itself as a sipping wine.

A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Aged in large French oak barrels.

14% alcohol by volume.

Medium length on the finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This young Grenache blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape is very approachable, and already drinking beautifully, but needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Well balanced and tangy, with good structure. Spicy and entertaining. Alcohol is nicely integrated already. Complex and engaging.

I had this wine as a 20 year old, and it was so much better with age.

This 2022 vintage in Châteauneuf-du-Pape is already showing its possibilities. Will continue to age nicely in the next 25 years.

Delicious by itself or with food.

A blend of mostly Grenache, from 40 year old vines, with all 13 grapes allowed in the appellation. Aged in used French oak barrels for 12 months.

15% alcohol by volume.
