Mesquite, garrigues, fruitcake, dark red fruit, tobacco and menthol. — a month ago
Beautiful grassy nose, with hints of pineapple, lemon pledge, and crushed limestone. Beautiful hay color, slightly oily, mouth coating texture on a medium body. Palate is silky, with notes of lemon, bright pineapple, and creamy citrus, with notes of vanilla and slight fresh cut hay on the finish. — a month ago
The color of the 2000 Pignan is a brilliant pale ruby color and slightly cloudy. Noticeably lighter in complexion than the others in the CdP flight. Yep…it has that scintillating, heady nose that is so unique to Rayas. Pine needles, wild strawberries, cardamom…woof. This bottle had some VA but I didn’t mind. Perhaps not the most exciting Rayas but I’m splitting hairs here. A very nice pairing with cassoulet, Toulouse sausage and duck confit. Drink now and through 2035. Merci Matt! — 2 months ago

Talk about an enormous wine. The 2005 is downright youthful and packed to the gills with fruit and character. Dark fruited with anise and black pepper. It was just so dense that everything seemed locked up right now…and we can thank Mourvedre for that. This was very tasty with cassoulet, Toulouse sausage and duck confit. If I were going to open another one of these, I would probably hold until 2030 and this will probably last for another 25 years beyond that. A massive wine with a long future yet ahead. — 2 months ago
Wine auction winner. Smooth and subtle. Finish to match. Cherry tobacco notes. Paired with grilled ribeye steaks — a month ago
Vegetal, but with dark fruit like blackberries, and red fruit like cherries. Tannins are smooth, unobtrusive but muscular. — a month ago
Abby really likes this wine great with cheese notes of apricot — a month ago
NOSE: mild, cooked fruit, a little carob. Inoffensive but not especially inviting.
TASTE: cooking spices, chicory, ash, a little bitter —unsweetened minerally dark chocolate - red fruit barely present and dried. Very balanced and elegant. This is going to kill with the herb roasted chicken I’m about to eat. 91. — 2 months ago

Almost perfect. Stewed fruit, great bitterness, extremely round and perfect tannins. Close to a grand cru burgundy in a good year with 10-15 years of age. — a month ago
