12/27/2024: NOEL FAMILLE COLMAR — 3 months ago
Popped and poured just below my cellar temp (which is currently at 59°F); enjoyed over the course of two days. Consistent throughout. The 2006 pours a reflective, straw color with silvery rim. Medium viscosity with no signs of particles or gas. On the nose, the wine is developing. Notes of lemons, limes, honey, cashews and oyster shell. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium++ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and super chalky. This is absolutely killer Chablis that almost seems evergreen. Drink now through 2031.

Burgundy; Maconnais, Poiully-Fuissé, France
(92-94; drink 2017-27+)
Nose has recently cut yellow apple, fresh pineapple, cane sugar and faint beeswax.
Palate has tart/under-ripe pineapple/yellow apple, lemon zest with mild chalky notes; plenty of acid to keep the palate lively. A great vintage for white Burgundy; A standout bottle from a heavily diminished case.
Paired with boneless chicken thighs, gnocchi, Parmesan cream sauce and kale from the garden (picked today, January!). — 3 months ago
2006 vintage. Garnet color, some primary fruit (red cherry, black cherry, plum), but now showing lots of tertiary notes (leather, tobacco, dried herbs, dried fig, prune). 14.5% alcohol, medium acidity, full body. 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre. — 3 months ago
