Chery Condrieu Viognier 2021

Delectable Wine
9.4

Coming in at the same quality as the 2022, the 2021 Condrieu Chéry is an athletic Viognier, neatly capturing energy and freshness. Banana, apricot, peach, vanilla, blossom and honeysuckle all race out of the glass. Medium-bodied at most, it concludes with solid persistence on the stimulating finale. KO In Côt We Trust 2019

A deliciously complex wine that starts bright and acidic, has a big dark fruit middle, and a smooth sea salt and chocolate finish. It's very well balanced! — 3 months ago

Domaine André et Mireille Tissot

Benedicte & Stephane Tissot Chateau-Chalon Vin Jaune Savagnin 2014

Widly complex, expectedly concentrated on the palate, and super intense on the nose. You could even smell it from across the room. Heaps of nuts, dried apricots, curry leaves, and iodine, along with hints of baked lemons, chamomile, yeast, and vinegar. Huge palate weight with enamel-melting acidity. It was rich, salty, spicy, nutty, and savoury. Frankly, the wine was way too young and certainly “too much” to drink alone, but with some 36-month Comte, it was just magical. — a month ago

Cuvée Sabrine Côtes du Rhône Villages 2019

From the producer of the excellent Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this Côtes-du-Rhône Villages has notable depth of flavor and excellent balance of smooth tannins, medium acidity and complexity of fruit. Strawberry, blackberry, black cherry, leather, garrigue (wild thyme and lavender) and a subtle meaty note. It’s like a restrained CdP. 70% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 10% Syrah. For about $20 it’s a good value — 2 months ago

Saint-Joseph Syrah 2020

Delectable Wine
9.1

Crafted from fully destemmed grapes, the elegant and polished 2020 Saint-Joseph totally delivers. Violets, black cherry, raspberry and discrete cedar usher in. Ripe tannins structure this medium-bodied and concentrated Saint-Joseph that maintains its elegant profile right through to the refined finale. (Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, March 2024)
