Les Murgers Nuits-St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

No specific notes but a very elegant, spicy and floral burg done by one of the finest we know. Really good bottle and recommended. Might be a notch or two better with another 5 to 6 years of cellar time. — 3 months ago

Cuvée Les Vieilles Fontaines Cornas Syrah 2012

I thought this was the most complete and elegant of the trio of ‘12 Cornas we opened. Dark fruited, sinewy, meaty and herbal, floral and spicy notes add interest to a long and dramatic finish. Plenty of life ahead — 3 months ago

Deep dark brooding color with rich ripe nose and blackberries and dark fruit. A winner should evolve further over next decade. — 19 hours ago

En la Rue de Vergy Morey-Saint-Denis Pinot Noir 2021

Too young, but still delicious. Blue and black fruits, nice tannic structure. Will improve over the next 5+ years. Enjoyed at Mooo in Boston. — 2 months ago

@Byron Hewett Hello Byron. I assume you meant 2021. Did you find this wine reflected the lighter vintage? Many are saying back to “traditional Burgundy “ after the warmer vintages from 2015.

I did mean 2021. My experience with’21 is that it isn’t necessarily lighter. The frost, hail and other pressures dramatically reduced the crop, but most of the wines made are still quite good. Better care in the vineyard, and careful selection of grapes made a huge difference. This wine was no shrinking violet!
