Over the weekend we had the pleasure of opening the 2020 Domaine De La Côte Bloom's Field Pinot Noir from Lompoc, California.

On the nose there is cherry, strawberry, raspberry, cinnamon, clove, baking spice and dry dusty earth.

On the palate there is cherry, strawberry, raspberry, spice, hibiscus, vanilla and forest floor.

This wine is medium bodied with a smooth fresh mouthfeel medium + mouthwatering acidity and medium fine tannins that lead to a long red fruit earthy finish. On this Wednesday heading over the hump towards the weekend let us all remember all the good things that we have and family and friends we dearly cherish. Special wines for a special occasion! Happy anniversary to my beloved partner in wine!
Initially a bit closed and was thrown off but after about 5mins in the glass the intensity picked up notably. Pears, apples, hint of honey followed by balanced acidity that complement the nose and palate. Kept picking up volume with every glass. — 4 years ago

The 2018 is more ethereal than past vintages particularly in its finish. Raspberry-cranberry are the main flavours with some pomegranate too.

Sometimes (usually when I’m one or two bottles deep) I consider what my life would be like without my beloved bottle shop The Heights Grocer and how I would never get to know cool bottles such as this one which delight the palate. We were prepared for a fruit bomb but this is bone dry. Paired with some dope soup dumplings from Peony and Crane. — 2 years ago

It is only $5 so let it air out a bit before making up your mind. Tastes like my beloved Apothic Dark, but at a fraction of the cost. Trader Joe does everything right, especially this wine. Easy to accidentally drink the whole bottle, but I definitely wouldn’t know that. I’m getting hints of berry, chocolate, and a little bit of battery acid (like I said, it’s $5) — 5 years ago

First bottle of a batch that I ordered from my favourite wine merchant in France and that got delivered to my door in Poland.

An old friend that I have missed dearly. Apple, honey, waxy notes and some flowery scents too. This is multidimensional and very great. The palate shows a massive acid backbone, as expected, some stone fruits touches, a great width, a very long and fresh finish with a chalky mouthfeel almost. This is a great chenin.
