2018 vintage. Last tasted 8.3.21. A little less overtly rich and smoky…slightly less body and more polish. Had I been blind tasting, woulda guessed 2015 Château Meyney. Still super smooth and über-drinkable. Starting to pick up a hint of tannic resistance. So good. — 2 years ago
2019 vintage. Château Barrail Tapon, Montagne Saint Emilion. As this is the fourth impeccable wine with amazing value mentioning "vignobles Gabriel & co" this week, it seems safe to say that it is a quality label. This one is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc and it's juicy, fruity and fresh with ripe tannin and good length. Another great value at less than 7 euros. — 4 years ago

Bordeaux trip. Château Grand Barrail. $50.00. Classic Right Bank Bordeaux. Smooth Merlot start, with nice tannin finish. — 4 years ago
Dark fruit -baked plum, tart raspberry, baking spices. Has a mossy, earthy quality, with the flavor of soft white mushrooms and cedar. Pet a Bedlington Terrier while drinking this. — 2 years ago

Deep ruby in color; black cherries, blackberries, and cigar box on the nose; high acidity; high tannins; tastes like black currant, crushed gravel, and a little eucalyptus with a long finish. It needs to decant a bit longer. Very structured, but delicious. After a hyperdecant, and sitting for an hour, the tannins mellowed a little and everything tastes more integrated. I'm taking off 1 point because the eucalyptus is too strong for me, but I still love this wine! Nellie says it's ok. — 4 days ago
