Tasted double blind, deeper straw color, medium+ viscosity, with no signs of particles or gas; on the nose, medium intensity with notes of stones fruits and tropical fruits, kettle corn, bubble gum, and nuts; seems to be just a hint of sherry-like character which makes me think this wine has seen some age. On the palate, the fruit set is more skewed to the tropical side with notes of star fruit, passion fruit and pineapple with some almonds and some butter. Medium acid. Medium+ finish; creamy and long. Quite delicious if not slightly hot for my taste but the quality was certainly there. The last time I drank a wine that tasted like this, I called Condrieu (because I felt the alcohol was elevated and the acid held a more diminished role. This time, I wasn’t going to be fooled and called Puligny-Montrachet from 2006. Close! — 3 days ago
Imposing power and richness with an absolutely explosive and stunning nose. Lemon curd, white flowers, grilled nuts, spices and melted butter are layered in its fine mineral infusion to provide the perfect balance. There’s great weight, excellent mid palate depth and a fresh and intense lemony acid spine that cuts the wine’s richness seamlessly before its long and lingering finish. Fantastic bottle. — 16 days ago
Great lunch at terminus in watou. Selosse outstanding. Paul Pillot La Romanee this is the first bottle I have ever drink from this estate, perfect nicely integrated wood, high mineraility succulent wine. 2008 La Landonne, for a major disappointment, chemical, grassy. 2018 echezeaux well made, you drink cherries. Overall outstanding for a simple Sunday lunch. By the way the food and hospitality were excellent. — 2 days ago
Deep gold color. Notes of apricot, creme brulee, lemon and marzipan, and a little butterscotch. In the decanter this looks golden, but in the glass it looks much younger. My last experience with this wine ended in a TN that said to drink within 2 hours of opening. Today, that was true. Until it wasn't. In hours 4-6, this exploded with excitement and changed dramatically. The old butterscotch and apricot notes disappeared; the acidity powered up; and the lemon and marzipan notes along with wet river stone and tan spice were amplified. Just when you think it was done, it pulled you back in...! — 11 days ago
Some aromes of lemon, sea shells, saline both on the nose and palate, nice volume and texture, the acidity is crisp with some richness to the wine also, it’s fresh, balanced, generous, and with good length, impressed by the quality of this Chassagne Villages.
Des notes de citron confit, de coquillages, un peu salin au nez comme en bouche mais avec un peu de gras et su beau volume, belle texture, c’est vif et frais tout en ayant une certaine plénitude, une très belle longueur. Un excellent Chassagne Villages. 91-92 — 10 days ago
