Spice on the nose. First hints of sour cherries. Smoky and smooth with a bold spiced finish. Paired with filet mignon. — 5 years ago
A stunning rosé champagne. First off, there’s that amazing salmon color. Not a ton of bubbles but those that are there are tiny. Ridiculously deep nose featuring plums, dried cherries, and ripe strawberry. Fresh herbs, oolong tea, and rose petals compliment. It really is such a pretty and graceful bouquet.
100% Pinot Meunier, this is rich and delectable throughout. Creamy and sensual in the mouth, this is silky smooth. Zero dosage and quite fruity, the two Pinots really work their magic here. It’s very vibrant and generous.
Intense raspberries attack the palate, along with cherries. Traces of mild oak, freshly baked bread, and mint. Sassafras, creamy vanilla, crushed petals, and nuts. A really unique and delicious Grower champagne. Outstanding on every level. — 5 years ago
Bright, structured, green apple and perfume, tart. Enjoyed it - sense it will hold well over time. August 2018. — 7 years ago
Beautiful wine. Full bodied, but soft on the palate. Paired with filet mignon. — 3 years ago
Lots of acidity which we both loved. Tiny exquisite bubbles. CFG says 9.0; CPG says 9.4. Green apples and very smooth. — 4 years ago
Great pairing with filet mignon for Mother’s Day. ❤️ — 5 years ago
The aromas are tropical lemon blossoms and being on a pebble beach. Lemon custard and the hint of pineapple (including that feeling on your tongue that pineapple gives you - in a very light good way) round finish. Vintages 2014/2015. Disgorged 1/6/2018. TBL — 5 years ago

A delicious left bank Bordeaux which greatly beneifted from a 60+ minute decant. The nose presents fig jam & blueberry along with notes of anise, cocoa, and pencil lead. The palate is impressively well balanced with flavors of blueberry and blackberry along with tertiary notes of sage & leather along with well integrated tannins and a bright acidity. Paired equally well with both filet mignon on day 1 & burgers on day 2! ($33) [5/27/22] — 3 years ago
The last of 3 bottles I bought as futures in 2007 for $22 each - quite a “deal” for a Michel Rolland consulted wine. It definitely bears his international, point-chasing style, being riper than you’d expect from Bordeaux and favoring richness and intensity over elegance and finesse. Although I think it would’ve been a bit better a few years ago when the fruit was brighter rather than slightly raisin-y, it’s holding up, in the way well-made Napa Cabs of the showier ilk do after a decade plus. Neither as intense as those wines, or as distinct and balanced as the best Bordeaux, it falls into a weird middle ground that probably won’t please most people but hits my palate just fine. A “win” for a Monday night with a pan seared filet mignon. — 5 years ago

Full bodied, oaky and smooth, goes well with surf and turf (filet mignon and lobster) at Bob’s Steak and Chop House in Dallas. — 6 years ago
The small winery is managed by father/son team John & Doug Shafer. A blend of 90% Cab Sauv, 7% Merlot & 3% Malbec, aged, 20 months, 100% new French oak. Beautiful fruit & floral aromas with hints of savory spice. On the palate cherry & raspberry flavors with a tight oak structure adding pepper, licorice & dusty cacao. Firm tight tannins, needs decanting now, lingering ending with fruit & slight mineral edge. Good now but 5 years of cellar rest with make wine pop! Had this with a Holiday Filet Mignon. Nice! — 7 years ago
