Brick Barn Wine Estate

Tin Barn Vineyards

Ricci Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

Now this is Pinot Noir the way it was meant to be! Floral, more subtle and less in your face like Meomi or Belle Glos. The nose is shy upon opening but after a couple of decanter days, it’s really come alive! Excellent with pork or salmon and turkey, it’s great for sipping or pairing. The mouthfeel is excellent and the flavors linger long after your last sip. Never thought California Pinot could be so authentic tasting. — 11 days ago

Cascadia Ribbon Ridge Chardonnay 2019

Medium lemon color, aromas of stone and citrus fruits with floral, honey and mineral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, peach and pear with citrus and floral wrapped in a nutty spice. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, spice and savory citrus character. 230 cases, good now! — 5 months ago

Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2004

If you know, you know.

Just eying the bottle evokes a sense of mysticism—these are increasingly rare sightings, relics of a winemaking philosophy nearly lost to time. Opening it after a recent visit to the winery feels familiar, almost fated.

The color holds strong despite its 20+ years, with a core of garnet that defies its age. On the nose, memory takes over: the scent of the underground cellar, the mold-covered walls, the rustic perfume of wood and brick. Then come the classics notes—dried rose petals, red berries, and a whisper of spice.

The palate surprises with more volume than the bottle’s vintage muster’s. Lively red fruit mingles with savory earth and warm spice, carried by silken tannins. The finish lingers with a trace of wet oak, grounding the experience in place and time.

This is a wine of lineage, character, and quiet perseverance—a style too uncommon today. Most importantly, it was opened, shared, and deeply enjoyed.

Boulder Block Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir 2003

Wow, the very last bottle in Higgins cellar. it was shy at first, quiet and understated. We thought for a second maybe the best years were in the past but we were rewarded with an example of the the beauty of Oregon Pinot Noir. As it opened up the layers of secondary notes took the forefront and the subtle gave way to a deeply complex wine, where the dance between vintage and winemaker had given way to vineyard and the knowledge to just let the wine be what it wanted to be. Cheers Doug best Brickhouse I have had maybe ever. Pure transparent terroir — 4 months ago

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2017

Deep ruby in color with slight brick color on the rim. Nose is quite pleasing with berry compote, lavender, and dark chocolate. Also a bit of earthiness. Wow. A great mouthfeel on this wine. Well balanced with tannins still a bit heavy. That said, I like my wines with a bit more tannic backbone. These notes are from pop and pour taste. Will let it open up a bit and will update if it changes significantly. — 9 months ago
