2004 vintage. Decanted and tasted after two hours. Used a Durand but cork was great. Top-notch fill. Super chunky sed..like vintage port. Nose good, not great, but biggie structure and balance all there. Medium body. Not a personal fave but may hafta pick up a few more of these for those inclined to partake. There will be 2004 Insignia going steady for quite some time. 12.22.23. — 5 months ago
2001 vintage (great Napa cab year). Good, upper-shoulder fill. Dryish cork. Decanted with plenty of sed. Lots of color. Tasted immediately. Smoky plummy nose. Still medium-heavy body. Showing well with plenty of front-palate richness evident in the gums. Overt "oakiness" gone with only complimentary, flattering oak framing the composition at this point. A hint of tannins on the finish but you've got to know where to look. Summer-school hedonism. Slightly better than expected. 11.30.23. — 6 months ago
Deep, dark and dry . Not super big. Chewy too! Enjoyed this wine. — 7 months ago
1978 Chuck Hope left beverage job, moved to Paso Robles, became farmer, & top grape grower. Working with his father, Austin led family into winemaking in ‘95, creating his label in 2000. #7 on Top 100 list, Grapes from 5 small blocks of Paso Robles AVAs, aged in 75% new French oak, 18 mos. Dark deep Ruby, aromas of sweet ripe black fruits & dried smoky tobacco spices. Flavors of ripe blackberry, sweet cacao, espresso & vanilla oak. Big wine, fine tannins, long fruit finish, vanilla overwhelms fruit. The 15% ABV has slight burn. — 3 years ago
Enjoying a glass at Joseph Adler Inn and I’m quite pleased. Definitely buying a bottle on my next trip. — 5 years ago
Good golly miss Molly!!! Meiomi move over. Big brother takes over!! Damn, again I am faced with loving a more expensive vino but ooh its so worth it. Melts in your mouth lovely. This wine is foreplay... for your filet mignon, New York strip or Porterhouse. Sorry not big on the long nose of some reds but occasionally deep dive.....I’m a novice to many of you wine connoisseurs am just expressing my emotional connection to the experience. — 6 years ago
Best, deep red, not too fruity, but could get deeper. Very close to what I normally want for deep red quote out being bitter or to sweet. — 4 months ago
Real pleasure. Started out surprisingly soft and elegant and about 1 hour in it just jumped the river and became a true grippy left bank Bordeaux. I had to check our claim that Vilafonté Bordeaux series m and c can stand shoulder to shoulder with the big rollers of Bordeaux. They sure do! Try for yourself and experience a wine from an ancient soil. You will not be disappointed. www.spokenwines.com. — 6 months ago

A great drinking wine on its own- wouldn’t say it flourishes with food. Super dry, big, bold, mouth full. — 3 years ago
1985 vintage and in good condition. Cork was solid but brittle. Fine color defined Cabernet aromatics with more years of enjoyment. Double decanted because of the cork issue. Very good now and has another 8+ years left. Excellent Napa Cabernet.😀🍷 — 5 years ago
As good as it gets in Oregon PN. Lots of bright r fruit, spice ant the finish goes on and on. Just a great, enjoyable wine. — 6 years ago
1982 vintage. Great, upper shoulder fill. Long, aging cork fully saturated but removed with a Durand. Splintered a little upon removal. Decanted and threw less sed than expected. Decaying leather, cedar, hot gravel and lightly roasted button mushrooms in the nose. Light-medium/medium body. All this + some undying cherry and plum flavors mixed in amongst remaining tannins. More thrust and fruit than anticipated with expected structure firmly in place. Really beautiful specimen. Based on this bottle, can hold steady without dropoff for another 4-5 years. 1.12.24. — 5 months ago
Met the "Blue Eyed Boy" at a Colleyville TX tasting and ended up hosting him at the house. Gave it the shake and The Boxer opens with loads of fruit, blueberry, leather, cassis. Big tannins but they won't bite you. Love the spicy finish. Very drinkable now and a in a few years. G'Day Luke. — 6 months ago
Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, plum, black currant, black olives, cedar. On the palate, black currant, cherry, raspberry, pepper, earth, oak and vanilla. Full bodied, rich mouthfeel, medium finish. — 4 years ago
Very smooth like a cab. Great for the price. — 6 years ago
