Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Caymus is too commercialized for me.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really well made Napa Cab…. BUT. You can get it at any LCBO, and the quantity is pretty much endless.

Enough of the rant: dark fruit. Oak.

Back to the rant… for the price I can buy any Italian wine not named Gaja or Quintarelli.

Black currant and vanilla aromas, initially, later floral note emerges. Black currant and black pepper flavors, slightly overripe fruit, 14.8% alc/vol. Decant several hours.

Setting the standard for napa cabs

Vastly overrated. Too much cherry with very little to balance it.

Enjoyed the 2014 vintage with an awesome steak sandwich with the works. After decanting, this bold aged wine paired perfectly complementing all the flavors of an amazing sandwich. I am glad I held off opening this bottle until our special occasion meal.

1.5 liters of excellence. The perfect full bodied California cab full of flavors served with traditional Italian apps.

One of my favorite wines to date. The 6 to 10 years of bottle aging really helped tame down some of the fruit forward of a Caymus.This was just perfect. Moderate plus tannins and acidity. Just a wonderful wine.

2014 full of jammy fruit , earthy & balanced. Happy new year everyone.

Solid .. ready! Always good.
