Amazing nose, no finish. Too young? — 10 months ago
White cherry on the nose, apricot skin, grapefruit pith, lots of minerality and savory notes on the palette, acidic and tannic but we'll balanced - lots of character — 2 years ago
Tasted blind. Dark red and opaque. Notes of tart cherries, earth, molasses, some wood, and a hint of VA that blew off. Rich fruit in the mouth. Monolithic though, and very quiet compared to the diva 64 Giacosa that is singing next to it. Perhaps it was the less air time that this had. What a treat to taste two great 64 Barolos side by side, brought brown-bagged by two different people. — 4 years ago
Cinghiale. Love mascarello, but this needs more time, despite the hot summer in '09. — 8 years ago
One of last bottles I bought in 2004 in Italy at winery. Absolutely gorgeous nose. Cherry, floral, Coca Cola. Still has lots of fruit smooth tannins and great length. Drinking window by professional stated through 2015. Has at least 5 years in my mind. — 8 years ago
Very unusual. Fruit forward. Medium body. Very surprising. — 11 years ago

Ruby color with a bouquet of dark fruit, spices, leather, oak and floral notes, blended from 3 vineyards, long skin maceration. On the palate flavors of black cherry, currants and raspberry with notes of pepper, floral and mint. Long finish, nice balance with fine soft sweet chewy tannins ending with fruit and earthy notes. Just starting to drink now! Will continue to age. — 8 months ago
The 2021 Zinfandel Giuseppe & Luisa is a vibrant, super-expressive wine. Sweet red cherry, mint, chalk, white flowers and white pepper bring out the higher-toned side of Zinfandel. Medium in body and racy, the Giuseppe & Luisa is a real charmer. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2023)

Exactly what I am looking for in a Brunello. Lovely balance of fruit and acidity. Typical Sangiovese characteristics coming through. Tertiary aromas of mushrooms and smoke starting to appear. At a perfect stage for drinking now. — 5 years ago
