Pale straw yellow colour with a delicate nose of white flowers, almonds and camomile tea.
Citrus zest, white stone fruit, and Asian apples with a chalky finish.
This wine carries itself with well balanced minerality and lively acidity.
Lovely with homemade Spot Prawn gyoza in Japanese hotpot (nabe) — 5 years ago
From the spiritual home of the Fiano grape - Campania in Italy which is the area around Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Also grown in Sicily. The wine is pale yellow in the glass. Aromas of freshly sliced green apple and herbs. Same descriptors on the zesty palate with lively acid. A very polished white wine with good palate weight of medium plus intensity. You could cellar this for a couple more years if desired but right now hits the sweet spot for my palate. — 5 years ago
While this was only a 2017 it surprisingly showed a darker shade of gold color denoting a far older wine. Also, nose immediately emitted petrol and then seductive mandarin orange, peach and yellow nectarine. Just fantastic. Dry and round, silky and zippy. Spot on — 5 years ago
Nose has freshly peeled yellow apple, wet strawberries, cut green apple, moist chalk and distant mown hay field.
Palate has warmed yellow apple, minor metallic notes, warm yellow cherry, lemon peel and faint vanilla creme on the long finish. Minor acidity but in a great spot tonight, all smiles here.
This seems to be drinking well, could hold remaining bottles until 2023-25. — 6 years ago
Nose of cold/wet limestone, neutral oak, grapefruit pith and wet yellow cherry.
Palate has lightly oaked limestone soup, almond paste, faint tropical fruit and white flowers to finish.
A very nice bottle, enjoyed with to much youth. Should hit a great spot in about 2021+, yet still drinking ahead of the usual Burgundy age curve. Yes, 2016 IS great! — 7 years ago
Tasting notes said clam shells and wet pebbles with lemon pith and a hint of yellow apple, and that’s spot on really. — 7 years ago
In such a great spot right now after a short decant flaunting signature and classical layers of yellow fruit, an oyster shell minerality and a refreshing sea spray salinity along with a waxy weighty texture that’s cut seamlessly with its racy lemony acids. Great bottle! — 4 years ago
2020 vintage.
This is always a fantastic wine for the price.
White flowers, white peach and wet stone on the nose.
Fruity and floral with golden apples, yellow peach.
Intense, round and fresh with lots of citrus and green almond on the finish. Beautiful citrus and mineral finish with one not overwhelming the other.
We sautéed local Ling Cod fillets and Spot Prawns with this. — 5 years ago
Nose has crushed strawberry, Clementine orange slice, yellow raspberry, red raspberry, green table grapes and moist chalk.
Palate has cherry, (light) raspberry, Clementine orange zest, partially dried strawberry, green melon, (light) steely notes and faint salinity. Nice wine, good finish, think this will settle into a greater spot in a couple years.
Quite a fruit forward profile on the nose, this is presently drinking better than the '19, likely closer to the '18 for immediate enjoyment. We generally hold at least a case on most vintages, for consumption 2-3Y past current vintage. The strategy hasn't failed us yet on satisfaction for this bottling. — 5 years ago

Yellow gold in the glass, looks darker in the decanter. Nice perfume in the nose. Notes of warm citrus fruit, kiwi, gravel stone, some honey and some tan spice. Sweet, rich and round in the mouth. Impactful. In a good spot for consumption but bottles like this should have a good many years in front of it. — 6 years ago
I have been staring down this bottle for awhile...guess tonight is the night.
Bright, candied red florals leap out of the glass followed quickly by sweet & sour cherries. Smooth, medium spice, cinnamon stick, cola, ripe, elegant, blackberries, poached to candied strawberries, stewy black plum, creamed black raspberries, pomegranate, haunting blueberries fruits, steeped fruit tea, truffle dark chocolate, tobacco notes with ash, dark, rich, moist earth, understated incense, beautifully layered, dark spices, almost black pepper, limestone alluvial earthiness, dry stems & stones with the most amazingly, bright, fragrant; dark, red, blue, purple floral wrapped in violets.
The body is round, gorgeously sexy and elegantly full. It sings on the palate. This is a good time to try a bottle if you have others as this wine will continue to improve over the next 15 years. If you love a well textured wine, this is one for you. The structure, tension, length and balance have just started down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. Candied red florals leap out of the glass followed quickly by sweet & sour cherries. Smooth, medium spice, big cinnamon stick, cola, ripe, elegant, blackberries, poached to candied strawberries, stewy black plum, creamed black raspberries, raspberries, cranberries, pomegranate, haunting blueberries fruits, steeped fruit tea, tobacco notes with ash, dark, rich, moist earth, understated incense, beautifully layered, deep penetrating dark spices with pronounced palate heat, lightly grilled meats, hints of smokiness, almost black pepper, limestone alluvial earthiness, dry stems & stones with the most amazingly, bright, fragrant; dark, red, blue, purple floral wrapped in violets & understated lavender. The acidity is spot on. The finish is complex, well balanced, ruby polished that falls into spice, florals for days and persists endlessly on your palate and in your head long after the night is over. Gorgeous wine!!!
I am all about pairing food & wine & confident there are foods that would enhance this wine; Duck, Pork Loin w/ fruit or lightly seasoned roasted chicken etc. but, I would be a purest with this bottling. It’s simply that beautiful & gorgeous on its own.
Photos of; Domaine Faiveley, their barrel aging room, Erwan Faiveley and immaculately manicured Nuits St. Georges vineyard.
Producer notes: Domaine Faiveley is one of the biggest Domaines at 115 hectares in Burgundy and some would say, one of the best. Domaine Faiveley grapes are destemmed and fermented in new wooden vats for the finer wines and in conical stainless steel tanks for the lesser cuvées

It seems as though 2016 white Burgundy is starting to be coming around, whereas the vintage was once a bit awkward and often showed disjointed. ‘Micro’ Domaine Lamy-Caillat is really making fantastic wines and being so elusive, it was great to spot on the excellent list at Daniel. A gentle decant gives it the little kick that it needs to intensify its green apple and rich yellow fruit expression along with a spice tinged, saline and smoky mineral infliction. The palate shows great concentration, density and textural richness and the full bodied opulence of the La Romanée site is cut seamlessly by its zippy citrusy acid spine. Gimme more Lamy Caillat! — 4 years ago
So tasty - just spot on: sexy nose of honey & beeswax, ripe red apples, lanolin, musk, and orchard fruit. Just wafty… silky on palate, great weight vibrant acidity and so honeyed w/out being cloying. Minerality & smoke, gorgeous yellow orchard fruit w/kiss of RS - I’d call Sec Tendre. — 5 years ago

Dark yellow in color pineapple, herbs and coffee notes. In a hot spot now. I wouldn’t hold on to bottles more than a couple years it seems to be at peak. — 5 years ago
Nose has melted butter poured over pineapple, light-wet oak notes, white peach, sun warmed flint, lemon candy and a honey drizzle on over-ripe pear slices.
Palate has ripe pineapple, clementine zest, lightly oxidized yellow apple peel, lemon pith, sweet-woody notes, strong yet not unbalanced acidity and a long finish.
This bottle is in a very nice spot this evening, but honestly, we should given this a few more years. Yet today, it is overly generous on the nose, one of those wines you could just smell all night and be completely satisfied by not tasting a drop! Never pass on the Village-level bottles from top-tier producers, this is where value is always delivered.
Cork pulled ~6h prior, to allow for a slow ox in a cool cellar space, this was the right move. — 6 years ago
From half bottle. Birth year wine. Excellent surprise, this wine is quite precise on the nose with a saline minerality, yellow flowers, orange marmalade, some wax although the wine is quote fresh and not really tasting tired or oxidized in any way. Palette is unfortunately defined by an alcoholic weight (10% on the label) which detracts from the wine’s otherwise great elegance and ethereal nature. Not overly sweet with sufficient though not especially racy acidity. Overall very fun to drink and in a great spot from 375.

Beautiful fragrance caramel like from intense Merlot and 2003 tannins mellow out and I mostly drank all of it. Paired with 4 day stewed Hokkaido abalone and 5kg yellow spot tiger garoupa. This is still the best Cantonese restaurant in HK — 8 years ago
Severn G

2019; Decanted 2H.
Nose has dried pineapple, wet plywood, dried lemon zest, dehydrated mango, vanilla and peach cobbler.
Palate has pineapple core, ripe yellow apple, clementine zest, mango with a nice bite of acidity.
So youthful! We're really looking ahead to how these develop over the next 6-8+ years, as that seems to be the sweet spot on this particular site. (Heck, the 2013's are still drinking amazing.)
24H Update:
Nose has overflowing pineapple & vanilla and crushed lemon peel.
Palate has warmed vanilla ice cream, mashed ripe pineapple with faded acidity. The vanilla notes are very present today. — 4 years ago
