Light, strawberry notes on a surprisingly balanced (full) wine. Many notes like straw, citrus shavings and a touch of raspberry jam, without sweetness. Would definitely drink again. — 2 months ago
At Moore Brothers tasting of Piemonte with Fung and Mary 1/25/25. Unusual blend with fruit from high up by the foothills of Alps but microclimate warm enough for palm trees. A rather rich and round texture and wouldn’t have guessed Nebbiolo. — 8 months ago
Distinctly Piedmontese but unique. Great acid, soft tannins and approachable. — a month ago
Haven’t had this wine in a while, and my god, what a return. Nose is sick. Comforting aromas of chestnut, spice, tar, leather, roses and more. So deep, accurate, and detailed, with loads of sweet spices. 9.6 nose. Gorgeous. The palate comes in with huge concentration and sap, big tannins that will smooth out with air. Dark cherry fruit and a whole inner world of florals and spices. The finish just imprints itself on your palate, juicy, suave, but in need of air. It’s all there.
With air, the nose picks up caramel, tree bark, and forest floor. Really elegant and pure. The tannins still need age and oxygen to calm down, but after much air, it’s lovely. Nose turns harmonious and full, tree bark, oolong tea, tar, roses, dark macerated cherries. Velvety palate, luscious fruit. So fresh and nimble. — 2 months ago
Poured into a wide bottom decanter about four hours prior to service; enjoyed over the course of our meal. The 1990 pours a garnet color with a translucent core and an orang-ish rim; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated fruits and truffles for dayzzzzz! There’s dried Morello cherry, red rope licorice, truffle, dried red flowers, the smell of an old cedar chest filled with old leather bound books and a mix of organic and inorganic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and savory. This is showing well at 35 years old! Drink now through 2030. Thanks @Lyle Fass for the assist! — 2 months ago
Wow. Delicious. Would definitely buy again. Thanks to the folks at Crush. Deep red cherries. I enjoyed this wine with a pasta with pesto, ravioli and sausage and a grass feed filet very versatile. But this! — 7 months ago

This has filled out nicely since my last bottle. Earthy, deeply cherryish nose. In the mouth, it’s dense but lithe macerated cherry, getting savory on the long finish. Full, but with nice acids. Damn this was an amazing value. I’m sorry that this is my last one. — 3 days ago
