Subtle lime & stoney fruit, a strong mid palate & some complexity (& from what I read the potential for aging) 10.5% alcohol, a lovely slight effervescence completely blows away my negative biases @ Australian wines. I though at firstThat 20$ was a tad pricey-& thats 20$ on sale, but after i finished the bottle, its a bargain. — 8 years ago
No oak. What the fuck?! Waxy, oaky (if possible), almost nutty. Sublime. — 8 years ago

First Australian Shiraz I have had in ages. It was recommended as an exception to the usual 16% bruisers that we’ve all encountered. This one at 13.5% was super juicy - bursting with black and blue berries, slight forest floor, and wet concrete. Medium acid and tannin, with a fresh finish. I doubt I would have called Syrah if had blind, this comes across as just well made and balanced red wine. Simple but with impressive purity of fruit. — 4 years ago

Medium lemon color with pronounced aromas of fresh toast, lemon curd, straw, blossom and beeswax. High acidity with toast, beery malt, lemon and a hint of coconut continuing on the long finish. A striking, unique wine that would be terrific with grilled fish, smoked fish, lobster and scallops. With this much age it’s bit robust for oysters, but younger, more lemony, versions would be beautiful with bivalves — 8 years ago
An amazing full body on this one. Great balance and acidity. Stong aromas...notes of green peppercorn, candied plum, and a satisfying rasberry taste. Lots of gentle vanilla show a careful amount of oak influence. Great Chilean Carmenere! — 8 years ago

Oak, lime like herb in aroma. Rich, citrus, white flowers. Citrus, comfortable acidity. Each factor in the taste is showing the feature clearly. From Hunter valley which is an initial place for wine in Australia. Vat 47 Hunter Chardonnay Tyrrell’s 2018 @7546, Toscany JH, 231028-231111 — 3 years ago
Very surprised when I opened the wine list. My inner geek took over when I saw it was the same wine I consumed last week but a different vintage. A much less open and complex nose than the’11.
In the mouth this wine demonstrated greater freshness than the ‘11. Grapefruit like acidity put the fruit flavors at the forefront. Once again I was a little disappointed with the finish but I think in this case the wine truly needs time to unwind. — 7 years ago
This was very good. Peppery but not too dry. — 8 years ago

Bright medium ruby with medium wide violet pink rim . This is quite exuberantly fruited on the nose at first , with plum , dark cherry , violets then some dry spices, anis, with some slightly toasty , earthy hints after a while . On the palate this is velvety in texture , medium bodied with red plum , dark cherry , ripe blackberry , with a discreet dried spice note . Balanced alcohol , ripe but lightly grippy tannins , and good freshness . Medium length , with cherry , anis and toasty , earthy notes on the finish. Youthful but certainly enjoyable now and , I would imagine , over the next 5-10 years. — 9 months ago
