What is this with these low scoring Californian Chardonnays?
This is just another perfect example of a very well made fat chardonnay. In the style well done. Nice tropical fruit, salty tones and wood well integrated and solid as a rock. Drinking cold well on the terrace after dinner with 30Co temp.
Well deserved 92 points. β 2 years ago
Bright, full-bodied, and (a bit too) acidic. Oaky with a lot of lemon curd, pineapple, and a hint of pear. Other tropical fruits on the nose. β 3 years ago
Pale lemon with aromas of stone and tropical fruits. Made from 40-year old vines, aged in 100% stainless steel. On the palate flavors of bright lemon citrus with crisp apple and peach notes. This medium-body wine has crisp acidity, good balance and nice mouthfeel, smooth long finish ending with creamy mineral texture. Very Nice! β 3 years ago

The guava is real! Juicy, tropical fruit forward nose. Melon and fresh straw. Sweet and smooth, not too crisp, but still refreshing and delightful. β 4 years ago
Truly outstanding reductive, white flower, honey blossom, citrus, tropical notes galore and medium plus acidity. This bottle was consumed extremely quickly and I can only imagine what a few years or more of n the bottle will do to this wine. This is definitely American Grand Cru! β 4 years ago

My new Favorite white, just love mountain fruit! Named for mountain range dividing Napa & Sonoma, old stone winery dug into side of dormant volcano crater in 1889, remained in production ever since. Pale lemon with aromas of Tropical and stone fruit with complex spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and citrus with light oak and nutty tones, fresh and vibrant, well integrated. Long finish ending with fruit and flinty mineral characteristics. Long aging potential. Nice! β 2 years ago

Rich golden colour, nutty flavours as a result of ageing. Hint of fading tropical fruit on the nose with coconut on the palate. Honestly thought this would be well past its best but has surprised and delighted 19 years on! β 4 years ago
A tropical fruit filled chilled SB with jumbo stone crab in a summer like day.

Pungent florals, ground ginger and grapefruit form a zesty bouquet as the 2022 Bianco SP68 opens in the glass. Itβs soft and round. Juicy acidity and tropical citrus tones enliven its tart orchard fruits. This finishes surprisingly long, leaving exotic inner florals and sour melon notes to fade slowly. What a treat. The SP68 Bianco is a blend of Albana and Zibibbo. (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2023)
