dessert course (rhubarb) — 2 years ago
We had the pleasure of opening the 2021 Hermann J. Wiemer.
On the nose there was nice strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, herbaceous notes and green bell pepper.
On the palate there was good strawberry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, a bit of oak and crushed gravel.
This is a medium bodied wine with light velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leaves with a medium to medium + red fruit gravel dust finish. Well it looks as though spring can't make up her mind. This weekend looks to be a bit on the cooler side so lets get out and enjoy ourselves. Please stay safe and healthy. Holee shit. Best nose of the morning. Smells like a scene in nature. Holy moly. Honeyed apricots. So so insane. Minerals. Peach. So vivid, so precise, icing on a cake. Confectionery but also a scene in nature. Wow. Saffron? Smells sweet like but is bone dry. Juicy and pure, so fresh and so compact. Structured and dense. Crystalline purity. Compact. Stunning. Wow acid. Cheeks tingle and tongue does not tingle. Amazing freshness. This is superb and dense, but so nimble and elegant. The length is endless. This is as brilliant as anything I’ve ever had at fass selections. — 3 years ago
Light gold in color. Notes of honey, peach, lemon, pineapple, and a touch of honeysuckle. Its sweetness is balanced by bright acidity. Easy to enjoy on its own or with light dishes.

Excellent. Fresh, fruity, and very drinkable. Juicy and delicious. Quite dry. Little finish, but who cares. Wish I bought more. — 9 months ago
Taste melon, apple, apricots. Very easy to drink — 3 years ago
Blinded a dear buddy in the wine trade on this tonight, guesses all over the place, in a great spot, want to see this in 10+Y.
72H Update:
Nose has crushed blackberries, ripe plum, dried plum, dried tart cherries, moist mahogany and faint moist soil. Palate has tart plum, light molasses, blackberry compote, faint leather notes and fine tannins. Not as good as day one, but no slouch on day three. A wonderful experience, many years in the bottle to go ahead. — 3 years ago
Much improved in the last 23 months. — 7 months ago

Have not had in 4 years and as brilliant as ever. Unreal freshness and acid. Lush, rich, energetic and long. Nose is a stunning perfume of slate, green apple and wet earth plus citrus. 9.9 nose. So juicy, decadent, honeyed and refreshing. So so insane. — 5 months ago
