A blend of 55% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, and 5% local varieties. Aged in large French oak barrels for 18 months. Unfiltered and unfined.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Beautiful nose of blueberries, black plums, cherries, spices, dark chocolates, oak, licorice and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, herbs, spices, light cedar, earth, chocolates and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and raspberries.

This is a delicious GSM blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Elegant and rich. Fruit forward and complex.

This 11 year old, from the great 2015 vintage, is drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

I've had the 2021 vintage not too long ago, and this one is drinking much better now.

Nicely balanced, and good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.

A blend of mostly Grenache, with Syrah and Mourvedre.

Found a few bottles of this Syrah-heavy CdR, by 1995 Guigal was making over 1 million bottles of this gem that I paid less than $10/bottle for on release, this bottle had 2-3 inches of ullage, suspect cork seemed glued into the bottle neck, yet fresh, crisp acidity, a little Brett, but great balance, medium-bodied, this wine will still evolve, really lovely, even though it’s still ultimately a CdR to drink on a Tuesday night with grilled sausage!! — 7 days ago

@Doug Powers as promised . Dry leaves and plums on the nose. In the mouth spices, cherry , earth and good acid . Certainly the magnum format kept this alive. However for me it had not become complex and had a very clipped finish. — 3 days ago

Excellent follow up to the classic 2016 Vintage. Blend of Mourvèdre (30%), Grenache (30%), Syrah (15%), Counoise (10%) and the balance (15%) made up of other approved CDP varietals led by Vaccarese’. Aromas of red and black fruit, garrigue, leather and earth. Flavors of black raspberries, currants and cherries, Asian spices, smoked meat and truffles. Long and lingering (slightly spicy) finish and beautiful balance. Full bodied and dense, but not overpowering. Fine grained tannins and amazing complexity. Great now, but there is another decade (or so) of aging potential. Just incredible. — 23 days ago

On the palate complex rich flavors of cherry and blackberry, with oak, leather, cacao and earthy spice. Full body, well balanced, fine tannins, long finish, perfect now but will last another decade. Still catching up from two weeks ago. Well wasn’t this quite the joy! Slightly shy upon opening, with more red fruit on the palate. Developed considerably in the glass and bottle, filling out with black fruit and a tight, beautiful tannin core. Seems in a great place right now but with years ahead of it. — 2 months ago
