The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Serena Palazzolo e Figli is very easy to like. Both spicy and intense, with smoky crushed stone giving way to musky peach and hints of confectionery spice. This washes across the palate, with round yet juicy textures delivering ripe orchard fruits and hints of candied lime. Its stimulating minerality and sour citrus add poise, yet not so much to slow its momentum, as the 2020 finishes long and wickedly fresh. This would make a great gateway wine for lovers of Sauvignon looking to explore Friuli. The Serena Palazzolo e Figli is a blend of fruit from throughout the Ronco del Gnemiz vineyards. Its minerality and sour citrus character keep the experience engaging to say the least. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2022)

— 5 years ago
Rich and creamy. Briny salinity, wild herbs, barnyard funk, clay, and yet with undertones of ripe tropical fruits. Moderate plus acidity and body. A unique Friuli Sauvignon Blanc. — 6 years ago
Straw green. Delicate herbs, lime and floral aromas on the enticing nose. Then clean fresh and juicy, with outstanding inner-mouth perfume to the ripe pomaceous orchard fruit flavors. Finishes long with a whisper of pear, minerals, sweet spices and noteworthy clarity. A knockout Friulano. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, May 2018) — 6 years ago
2022/6/8-10 with scallop crudo, homemade fresh tagliolini al Portonat, frico, etc. A nice mix of more “typical”, bright Sauvignon Blanc citrus and herbs with richer, stone fruit notes. Strong minerality, sneaky richness and plenty of acidity ensure a strong structure, and subtle depth keeps one coming back. — 2 years ago
This clear yellow wine pours up very slightly frizzante, with a small collection of tiny bubbles clinging to the glass. On the nose there is a sweet apricot aroma mixed with a delicate blend of herbs and minerals. Those minerals drive the palate, which is exquisitely citrus. The acidity comes on strong, then softens through the sip into a gentle tingle. It is an elegant white wine, offering a perfect balance of herbal notes, earthiness and freshness. — 3 years ago
Asian spices, minerals roasted meats and lemons. Delicious. — 5 years ago
I had no expectations going in for this one— I had never heard of the grower or the varietal (Schioppettino - “little rifle”) before. Spicy pepper and blackberry on the nose, it manages to maintain both of those whilst adding tannins and acids for a balanced, yet very interesting wine. It’s all the more interesting for being a part of the “Vini Veri” movement: no pesticides or GMOs, or alterations to fermentation. Well worth a try. — 6 years ago
This wine is such a pleasant surprise still so young but very well balanced with a long life ahead. Only Manferrari can make a wine like this in Friuli. — 7 years ago

Spezie moltissimo pepe. Tannico. Molto. Manca di freschezza e sapidità. Molto secco. Profumo intenso di spezie. Lo trovo particolarmente intenso di spezie e manca un po' di frutto. Cmq ottimo ! Carnale e ferrico. — 4 years ago
Orange wine done finely and with great precision. For those hedonists who like overt pleasure. Though complexity and character is there in depth this seemed like a rich pie with a deeply buttery crust the entire time. — 4 years ago
50% CS, 40% CF, 10% Merlot. This is certainly aiming for the highest pedigree of Bdx-blends, and getting there as well. Crushed white stones, serious minerality, wild fruits, plenty of spice elements and underlying acidity enabling flavours to retain freshness and length. Beautifully integrated all new oak here as well. It tastes... amazing, and it’s structure promises a very long and slow cellar evolution. Best from 2025-2040. This will rival ANY high end stuff available. — 6 years ago
