Wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this - but quite nice. Definitely late secondary at this point, not expecting any positive development. Dark red fruit, still a bit of dusty tannins, still enough acid. Nice pairing with a corned beef for St Patrick’s day. — 2 months ago
1998 vintage. Top-notch fill (almost too good) and perfect cork with very little lower-level saturation. Decanted and tasted over the course of two hours. Appropriate, chunky sediment. Last tasted 12.17.23 (9.2). Had some nice older leather, dry summer earth and ripe plum in the nose throughout with only a modicum of "funk" that blew off quickly. Medium body. Still vibrant color. Initially, the experience was front-loaded but, after 30 minutes or so, the fruit and structure began to fill in/slide back and balance out the mid-palate and finish. More consistent specimen than the one tasted almost 3 months ago. Don't feel it needs more time to knit/resolve affairs but can likely hold in this phase for 4-5 years without degradation. 3.10.24. — 2 months ago
Great nose. Complex and smooth as velvet. — 3 months ago
Nice complexity with dark berries, tobacco, and refreshing finish. Goes very well with meat dish. — 4 months ago
Little bit of earthy funk upon opening that evolves quickly to sous bois laced dark berry fruit, some mushroomy notes, quite hooking on the palate, firm acidity, graceful tannins, paired solidly with Quiche Lorraine. #stemiliongrandcru — a month ago
I had this in the past and couldn’t remember much about it. Now on NYE, it’s what we paired with our chicken dinner and it is delicious. First taste feels flat but then you feel it bounce on your tongue with hints of pepper — 4 months ago

This was drinking well at 49 yrs showing structure & finesse with a silky & polished texture that is still youthful with black fruit, cassis, graphite, menthol, glycerin note & tobacco. — 2 months ago
