Poggio Del Moro

Bodegas Emilio Moro

Crianza Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2021

Full-bodied, yet not too heavy, with a well-balanced taste. I would consider buying it again. — 2 months ago

Bodegas Emilio Moro

Tinto Fino Crianza 2021

Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark fruits, flinty spice, floral and oak notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and plum with notes of espresso, cacao and licorice wrapped in oak. Firm tannins, great old world balance with acidity, full body, long finish ends with fruit, oak, spice, and earthy mineral character. — 2 months ago

Poggio al Casone

Castellani La Cattura Toscana Teroldego Syrah 2015

ESF
9.1

continuing in the vein of unusual Italian wines, we thoroughly enjoyed this 10 yr old Teroldego from Tuscany of all places: pouring a deep rich ruby, partially opaque with copious quantities of red fruit on the nose, some dark berried fruit as well, licorice, dirt & soil, peppery goodness some dried herbs and so on. complex and engaging, med bodied on palate, more fruit & spice, fleshy mild tannins and smooth finish - other than color, not showing its age. — 2 months ago

Poggio San Polo

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

The 2013 vintage enjoyed Classic cool weather, and the 2013 San Polo reveals what old time Brunellos were like prior to global warming. It is medium bodied, colorful, with persistent fruit and underbrush aromatics; flavorsome, balanced, crisp and energetic with refined tannins. Lovely wine. — 4 months ago

Tenuta Col d'Orcia

Poggio al Vento Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

One of the best Italian wines I've had recently. Deep, juicy cherry and plum notes dominate. Well-rounded, elegant. Great with some chocolate or a lighter pasta dish with lean meat. — 5 months ago

Solosole Bolgheri Vermentino 2021

Vermentino is very reliable. Lemons, grass, tart gooseberries, herbs, white tea with a creamy texture and salty finish. — 2 years ago

Malleolus de Valderramiro Tempranillo 2018

2018 vintage. Too much oak presence for this guy. Nicely made but needs a solid decade for the oak to dissipate and minimize presence. 3.24.23. — 2 years ago

Tenuta Argentiera

Poggio Ai Ginepri Bolgheri Red Bordeaux Blend 2022

Chocolatey, leathery mouth feel with mainly dark cherry from a fruit perspective. A tiny little spice on the back with a touch of nutmeg. Paired well with Goulash Di Manzo (short rib stew over polenta with mushrooms). — 7 months ago

Bodegas Emilio Moro

Malleolus de Sanchomartin Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2018

2018 vintage. Grippy and going places. Medium body. Supertight nose and flavor profile and needs lots of time/a solid decant and forget for 4 hours+. 3.24.23. — 2 years ago
