Château Cantemerle

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2013

A 5th Growth from the left bank of Bordeaux that never disappoints. Multi-layered, enticing aromas of red fruit, leathery and dried leaf, raising and date fruits, makes this earthy wine a nice option. Had the 2013 vintage and still delivers. Solid tannins, dry and not so aggressive on the mid-range of the palate. Silky finish. — 10 months ago

From Date night at J. Gilberts. Some but not a lot of tannins, raspberry and other fruits, a good wine with steak and chocolate. — a year ago

📝 I say Musar is always better with 15-25 years age but this 8 year baby is quite gluggable

Marchesi Antinori

Tignanello Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2008

Among the best Tignanello offerings to date, rivaling the '97. In fact , time will tell but it might rival the last 3 acclaimed vintages. Leather, licorice, and smoke in a larger than normal from this maker. Full with long lovely finish. — 3 years ago

Licorice aroma is the reward for patience in the decanter. Developed nicely over a few hours.

Dominus Estate

Dominus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2003

Decanted for three hours and immediately described as “universally appealing”, this is not only the WOTN but my WOTY. Utterly perfect, except perhaps enjoyed ever-so-slightly too soon. Remarkable winemaking. Concentrated flavour profile of cherry, strawberry, chocolate, violets, and very minimal earthy tones. Still on the upswing and not fully mature, despite the pleasure it was. Medium plus body, medium acidity. Extremely long. Possibly the best wine I’ve tasted to date. Can’t wait to try a “good” year. — 6 years ago
