Javernières Morgon Gamay 2018

Red deep fruit colour. Very nice nose of cherry and spices, pepper. In the mouth it is both crunchy and of a beautiful intensity, which will express all the better as the bottle will have been aerated for at least a good hour. An elegant bourguignon beaujolais, with a gastronomic profile that is still a little young. Clearly tailored for long guard. — 2 years ago

@Romain Fitoussi Love Desvignes! Generally they don’t last around here to full age*.

Morgon Beaujolais Gamay 2018

Ruby with aromas of perfumed red/black fruits, spices with slight floral notes. On the palate flavors of tart cherry, cassis, and anise with mineral notes. Chalky firm tannins, vivid acidity, medium+ finish ending with mineral and fruit. Nice! — 4 years ago

Strawberry, blueberry with medium acid, beautiful medium ruby color, medium body with dry ending. Great on its own, even better with duck breast. — 3 months ago

Dr Pepper. Thinner than the last Beaujolais I had today but still mighty tasty. — 5 months ago

Côte du Py Morgon Gamay 2017

Pretty volatile soon after pouring. Calmed down with some time in the glass. But still unlikely to please everyone. The carbonic maceration is evident. With all of this, I ended up finding it to be an interedting and enjoyable expression of terroir. — 7 months ago

Good deeply woodsy/hedgey black fruit. Tannins are firm and dense. This seems to pack both the fruit density and structure to prove that Cru Beaujolais competes with Bourgogne rouge and village wines. — 2 years ago

Cuvée Camille Morgon Gamay 2018

Warm vintage cru Beaujolais sourced from a tiny plot in the Côte du Py vineyard. There’s a lot to be said about the fruit-forward spiciness, but for me the nuances are flattened by a richness I associate with a higher ABV - the wines that are coming to mind are Williams Selyem’s pinots rather than a Beaujolais or Burgundy. Not really for me but a worthwhile avenue to explore if you want to try a different, relatively subtler version of a big red. — 5 years ago
