Generally consistent with my last notes, but drinking this side by side with the Cote du Py does bring to attention the differences in structure. At this stage, the Les Charmes has a slight edge over the Cote du Py for me due to it’s lacier texture and distinct mineral streak. The Cote du Py looks brutish even against this wine. A fascinating study of Beaujolais terrior.

This was delicious. Just the kind of wine I like. On a night full of big, heavy reds, this was solace on the table. A wine of energy! Aromas of cherry pastille, cardamom, and fresh flowers. The palate was a touch reduced, but it comes of as being flinty, which plays to the mineral-accented finish. Light to medium body, with juicy plums and black cherry flavours, seamless tannins, and good acidity. Not the most layered wine of the night, but gosh it’s tasty. I needed this tonight.
