Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2002

Small vintage but drinking great now. All cabernet franc in style, elegant, polished, and excellent bottle but cant compare with their best vintages. — a month ago

2022 Mathilde. This is made from the vineyards of La Fleur Morange that are not classified as Grand Cru Classé. A beautiful wine in its own right that is hard to beat for value for money. — 10 months ago

Château Bellegrave

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2020 Bellegrave is well-defined and poised on the nose, blackberry and briary, hints of truffle unfolding with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a graphite-infused entry. Quite solid and structured, almost like a "mini-Lafleur", with a well-defined and persistent finish that has splendid mineralité. Very fine. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2023) — 3 years ago

Duché d'Uzès White Rhone Blend 2018

Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne.

Floral, pear, citrus, peach, golden grass. 13.5% ABV

Based on this wine, Duché D’Uzes is the Santa Barbara region of California. All notes considered, the peach notes of Grenache Blanc are amazing, and hard to find the equivalent of outside of Santa Barbara (and Paso Robles).

Most definitely has my vote in the $15 range

Guinaudeau

"G" Acte 6 Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

The Guinaudeau family has started this wine few years ago. Young vines that came from Chateau Lafleur. As a matter of fact in 2018 its called “Les Perrerieres de Lafleur”. Great blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Dark rubi robe, dark berries nose, very polished tannins on a medium length medium body wine with good acidity and support to the fruit concentration. Hold for 4 to 5 years. One of the best new wines we have tried in a while. Highly recommended ! — 7 years ago

"G" Acte 3 Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

Dark rubi robe, no fading or bricking on the reams. Nose of cedar wood, top soil, blackcurrant and violets. Silky and elegant in the mouth, polished tannins, ever so slightly grip at the end, overall very cabernet and excellent freshness and tension in this medium bodied wine. Its now called Les Perrières de Lafleur and goes for over double the price. Excellent wine !!! — 12 days ago

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Nice second wine from pomerol! My understanding is that this is 54/46 Merlot / cab franc. You certainly get the cab franc characteristics on the nose and palate. Just starting to veer into secondary but still has great primary fruit with a nice vein of acid cutting through everything. Opened 4 hours and decanted 1 hour before which was the right call. Very nice pairing with double R ranch prime strip steaks on a blizzard day in nyc. — 6 months ago

Haut-Bailly Dinner in SF with Veronique Sanders of Haut-Bailly.

The 2010 is an excellent vintage but, it is for the later part of your life or your children.

This is drinking beautifully with a 4 hour decant. The structure & tension are just starting to their softening stage. The length and balance are in the forget about it range and will just get better & better. Ripe, stunning fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, plum & a touch of blue fruits. Moist clay & top soils, stones, mint, graphite, fresh tobacco, dark cola, anise to black licorice with stunning, withering floral bouquet. Acidity is perfect. The finish is everything you want in a Bordeaux.

Definitely a 99-100 point wine in 15 years plus.

Served with the Cheese Plate; Red Hawk, Hop Along & Roquefort. @Mathilde French Bistro

Pétrus

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 1970

Tasted blind. It was evident that this was mature Bordeaux at its finest quality level from an excellent vintage. The absence of brettanyomces and a right bank aroma profile pointed towards Lafleur or Petrus. Deliciously ripe and dried red fruits mingle with black truffle, cocoa powder, forest floor and cigar box. Gently caressing the palate, the 1970 Château Petrus delivers a full-body, velvety tannins, a core of dried red fruits and a long, lingering finish. Probably slightly past it's peak, but still spectacular. Drink now. — 4 years ago

Cuvee Lily Grand Cru Frankstein Riesling Blend 2017

Interesting. Very effervescent initially. Cloudy, unfiltered appearance and flavor profile definitely has some yeast / witbier to it in addition to lemon, pear cider, white flowers and some spice. I wouldn’t call it classic Alsatian Riesling but solid addition to the T-day table — 6 years ago

Les Pensées De Lafleur Pomerol 2010

#dfwe2019 — 7 years ago
