On the palate very intense red fruits , high acidity and quite gritty tannin . Quite raw and young this , really needs time . Rare sighting. Lucky to drink them side by side. Both a bit young and powerful with so much aging potential. Massetino is mostly Merlot with some Cab Franc. Masseto is all Merlot. Beautiful wine. No more than medium bodied. The pure deep fruit is melded with fine and perfectly integrated tannins creating a super juicy, fresh mouthfeel. The balance and length put this a step above. Wouldn’t be confused with a left bank Bordeaux, but the juiciness and energy of this wine make it a beautiful drink.
