Such a weird and interesting wine - secco spumante Lambrusco from natural fermentation. Its not a wine really like any others. Deep concentration in color, and aromas of pencil box, Luxardo Cherry juice, purple flowers, and black raspberry. The pallet is fully of bright acidity, with prominiate tannin structure, black currant, dried herbs, and chalk mineral, all encompassed by medium fizz - similar to any other spumante wine from Italy. Perfect for pasta with a tomato based sauce and a touch of spice, or pizza - served slightly chilled. Too cold and this wine is worthless... 50-55 degrees is perfect. Gotta say I've enjoyed this wine more than I care to admit. Cheers 😁 — 7 years ago
Black licorice, luxardo cherries, black olive, mint, coating palate, bright acidity, texture on the finish. Delicious. — 7 years ago
Interesting Prosecco. Dry and elegant. Still, crying out for a little Creme de Cassis and a Luxardo cherry or two. — 8 years ago
Good and elegant. Tastes of Luxardo, ripe black cherries, menthol, warm spices, black tea. Hints of umami: Aged cheese and cured meat. — 9 years ago
If this was the first #Vacqueyras you had, you'd be spoiled. This #wine from this region would be hard to follow up for the price.
Meaty and stewed aromas. Lots of robust volume to the nose. Think Luxardo Cherries, then deeper.
Great crimson color. Clear and clean. The palate is a little big, has smooth texture and robust. Great acid and slightly tart to the cherry side.
Had this wine on its own tonight. Could picture it with spicey foods and Asian food.

Luxardo cherries, oak/tobacco on nose, tannins barely there but still yummy. Decanted it this time as opposed to last December. Perfect. — 7 years ago
Backup bottle just in case the ‘01 Newton didn’t want to play ball. This is a really solid Cab that exhibits notes of blackberries, plums, creme de cassis, and baking spices. On the palate suave tannins that can stand only a little further integration, but don’t detract from the present drinking experience. Brooding dark fruits, Luxardo cherries, and blackberry cobbler on the palate without being overtly jammy or extracted. I think this wine is balanced nicely and will only improve in the coming years. — 7 years ago

Sweet Madura tobacco and mocha with a touch of tar, dark roast coffee, prime rib, iron pan, luxardo cherry, cedar bark, toasted marshmallow in this autumnally aromatic feast of perfumes. Spicy and lean into dense graphite and dark chocolate, blueberry, cassis, smoky raisin, baked plum, blackberry and pomegranate reduction. Violets for miles with a rich sloe-berry and burnt sugar cookie finish. #williamfèvre #carmenère #espino #chilewineday #chile #wine #redwine #svs #singlevineyard #grancuvée #mountainwine #mountainfruit — 7 years ago
Flavorful and fantastic. — 8 years ago
Super meaty on the nose upon opening and it took about 2 hours for it to mostly burn off in the decanter while drinking other wines. When it did make it into the glass, it was just incredibly brutish for its age, tannins to grip for minutes. Dark inky opaque color with a burnt orange rim - aromas of leather, cigar ash, grilled meat, black pepper, allspice blend, dried cherries, bruised red apples. Firm structured on the pallet - cigar smoke, luxardo cherry, black pepper, cedar, and leather. Loved this wine, and for a Crianza it was serious and in need of age. — 8 years ago

Dried figs, root beer, mint, spicy cinnamon. This makes me so happy. — 10 years ago
Fresh plums, stewed plum, campfire wood, grape juice, red & black currant, & raspberries on the nose. Fresh cigarette smoke up front. Oak, vanilla, stewed plum, raspberry & luxardo cherry pie, dark cocoa, & cherry cordial. High acidity. Medium-plus tannin. Velvety dryness. — 7 years ago
Fresh berries on the nose. Juicy, lightly tannic, notes of blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, & luxardo cherry. Juicy, fruit forward, & sweet, with a tannic finish. Lovely dessert wine. — 7 years ago
I’m reminded of the richness of Luxardo cherries without so much sweetness. Little breath of black peppery goodness. Light leather scent and velvety texture in the mouth. Some sediment in the pour. Delightful, delightful, delightful. Left open for 3 hours before drinking. — 7 years ago
The Rhône always has my heart. This is gorgeous right now, soulful, terroir driven, balanced, incredible finesse given its classically rustic edge. Nose is lifted, perfumed, luxardo cherry, black raspberry confit, a kiss of prune. There’s roasted herbs, licorice whip, subtle meatiness and leather. The palate start juicy and up front, matching the nose then moves to an herbal and stone laden wash. Kirsch, powdered sugar, confiture, white pepper, smoke, and crushed rocks follow. Lots of classic Vacqueyras freshness on the acid, tannins are rustic and finely knit, playing of the texture and herbal astringency. Soft given its alcoholic strength. Beautifully done for the AOP. 63 GR 19 MO 18 SY 15% destem — 8 years ago
Beautiful nose of stewed plum, cedar, and white pepper....so smooth over the palate with luxardo cherry, hints of cinnamon and firm tannins showing up on the backside....a delicious blend. — 9 years ago
Old world style from California central coast. The nose is redolent of Luxardo cherries and Antica Formula vermouth. On the palate, there is a battle between fruit and earth; deep, earthy forest flavors are offset by bright, tart spring cherries. Coastal botanicals play against wild fruit. Better than expected. — 9 years ago
Tart cherries, tobacco, and a hint of chocolate. As the wine breathes, more luxardo cherry and black berry. Soft tannins and viscous mouthfeel. Amazing. — 10 years ago

A robust, luscious, and voluptuous Cab with suave tannins and lovely acidity. Mocha, cedar, coffee grounds, blackberries, succulent plums, sage, Luxardo liqueur, and trace amounts of menthol. First exposure to this producer. Won’t be the last. — 6 years ago
