Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, soft spice and sweet floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, blueberry and ripe black cherry with notes of cacao, vanilla and dried herbs. Fine rich tannins, long finish ending with fruit, espresso and earthy mineral notes. — 8 days ago
This is misidentified as Pinot noir as the back label lists about 5 other varieties. Then again the back label is generic enough that it seems they put them on all their bottles back then. No vintage noted but is an early 60’s bottling. Still bright with loads of red fruit. What I seem to detect is a slight VA but others with more experience with older vintages says that it was on point. I’m good on the palate just not the aromatics. For a 50yr old wine I’m good with it. — 10 months ago
Estate dates back to Crusades & Scottish navigator, George Smith, owner in the 18th century. Followed by M. Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, then Louis Eschenauer, a famous wine shipper. In 1990, Daniel & Florence Cathiard now own estate. Blend of 60% Cab Sauv & 40% Merlot, dark berry aromas, herbs and earthy spice. Palate is complex with cherry & currant flavors, pepper, tobacco & cacao notes. Soft tannins, rich and full, lingering, earthy, mineral ending, needs a bit of time. — 3 years ago
Woody, medium body, lingers on the palate; juicy — 2 months ago
Grafs family minus K visit (Ho left) mom BD 5/7/22. Cab lineup through the decades. Shockingly alive and drinking well! It actually went great with grilled salmon! Such was its lack of tannins and fruit and body. PS it did fade over the next three days in Eto (Hsing tasted (5/9) but remained an excellent partner for food. — 7 months ago
This vineyard located in the celebrated Mayacamas Mountains nearly 1,300 feet above the Sonoma Valley delivers on a promise. That promise, a robust cab with full flavor and complexity - Black licorice, black pepper with a subtle cherry finish.
After being disappointed lately, this Martini is a strong representation of what Sonoma County can deliver.
Bravo Louis, bravo! — 4 months ago
Excellent cab - a bit peppery, a bit jammy, we’ll balanced. Would definitely buy again! — a year ago
Dark fruit, cherries, anise, and tobacco on the nose. Very dry wine. Dried fig, vanilla, more dark fruits, more cherry, and chocolate. Long finish of leather and oak. Drink now. Decant for an hour. — 3 years ago
