2020 vintage. Only 1 hectare, owned by the Estager family ( also La Cabanne in Pomerol among others). 66% Merlot and 34% Cabernet Franc. Round and ripe, very good value. Even better the next day. — 9 months ago
2018 vintage. Supposedly from the team that brings you Château Gruaud-Larose from St. Julien. Correspondingly lean with light-medium body. Not flashy in any aspect (which validates the G-L lineage) but exceedingly well made for the resto price of $18. Nice effort. 7.17.24. — a year ago
Dinner with John after two weeks on the mountain - including my first solo night at Chamonix. John went to VA to see P&T and pick up the foosball table and games. — 4 months ago

Blend of 84% Cabernet, 12% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, deep Ruby with rich fruit aromas, aged for 14 months in 15% new French oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants, with notes of licorice, tobacco, some floral and cedar spice. Fine tannins, long finish, ending with fruit, vanilla, oak and spice. Nice but needs more bottle age, should last another 10 years. Nice! — 10 months ago

Since I'm in Bordeaux, my #FridayCabernetfix needs to be from here.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, black plums, currants, cedar, chocolates, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, dark chocolates, herbs, black tea and black pepper.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, cedar, licorice, chocolates, dark coffee, pencil lead, earth and light vegetables.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious 13 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Saint Julien. Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel.
This Second Growth Bordeaux is starting to show age on the nose, but the palate is still fresh tasting. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Shows good structure with nice tannins. Expressive, and good by itself or with food.
A blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot. Aged in (80% new) French Oak barrels for 18 months.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
