At 22 years of age, the thing that I was most impressed about is that it still had a rather dark crimson appearance in the decanter. Although not as dark as the 06 Bucella or 12 Progeny Rouge, this one had just about zero bricking or browning, and had JUUUUST a tiny amount of age on the nose. Just enough to intrigue you! This wine entered with just enough blackberry and pie spice. Green olive and green pepper notes in the middle. Finished rather nicely. Some pepper but mostly spice and olive notes dominated the finish with a little bit of grilled meat flavor. Nice wine. — 8 years ago
Shows rusty tint. Nutmeg and cherry nose. Medium bodied and very dry. Tastes like sour cherries, raspberries, slight leather, high acid. Not unlike a mid-level Piemonte red with a little French intrigue. Respectable finish and complexity. Fruit shows better with exposure, still would be interested in comparing to a riper vintage. — 8 years ago
Fantastic geeky wine. Super mineral, funky, full of interest and intrigue! Nice balance, great mouthfeel, mouthwatering acidity. A truly unique and memorable wine that will be the talking piece of any wine gathering even if it's among seasoned sommeliers. — 9 years ago
Intrigue, you've simply done it again. — 9 years ago
Scratches those refreshment and intrigue itches. Chard/SB blend? Why not? — 9 years ago
Steak & claret Friday! This is the most reliable, value wine I have ever bought for the home cellar... I should have bought a 2nd case. It has great power and dark currant fruit, savory intrigue, developed texture and excellent acid. What else could I ask for? Another box! — 10 years ago
A fading beauty, still lots to love but starting its long decline. Compared to a bottle I had a year ago it has lost a certain vibrancy, though continues to intrigue. — 7 years ago
Strawberry nose with intensely ripe cherry palate and some chocolate. Nice balance and soft tannins. Not too complex. — 7 years ago

Probably the best IPA this brewery produces, a company Secret of their farm raised hops, adds to The intrigue and tasty IPA, Grapefruit citrus and pine, nice of balance malts, a very good beer in the style — 9 years ago
First bottle was corked. Took it back and exchanged it at my local wine store and they were more than happy to switch it out. After acquiring the new bottle, I let it breathe for approximately 16 hours before imbibing what was otherwise a fantastic wine. Large plum and blackberry notes brought this magenta toro to life. A hint of spice and mild tannins on the finish left a pleasant intrigue that only spurred the desire for a second, third, and fourth glass. — 9 years ago
Lemon drops, touch of butter menthol, florals, dribble of honey, a little thyme. Fragrant little cherub.
Combines refreshment, interest, intrigue and just tastes damn good.

I rarely get to taste aged Soave, but thanks to one of my favorite wine bars in SF, I had the opportunity tonight. Why don’t I drink this region more often? Broad, flowing acidity match juicy pear and other orchard flavors. A rounded stoniness further adds to the intrigue. What a pleasurable start to the weekend. — 7 years ago
It's a shame that wines like this aren't better appreciated. All you need is an apple, some cheese, crackers, a thin glass--an evening picnic inside or out. This is light, delicious, and has plenty of botrytis intrigue. I resolve to drink more Sauternes! — 8 years ago
Lots of CO2 in here, so it requires some heavy shaking and/or a long decant. As a general rule, I don't find trousseau to have quite the intrigue that poulsard does, but this one is a little stonier and less simple-fruity (and more structured) than most, with a complexion of cranberry and roses. The fruit unfurls a bit more and picks up a satiny texture once it kicks that CO2, while still having a nice acidic zing. 10% whole cluster according to the importer web page. — 9 years ago
What a delicious Chianti. I'm so into this right now. It tastes like something and I can't quite figure out what it is. So the element of intrigue here is keeping me interested.... I'm editing this post to tell you I figured it out: toffee and tobacco. amazing. — 10 years ago
Soft supple great acid, red mixed berries little bit of vanilla on the finish. Soft but not integrated tannins. Should age quite well over the next year or two. Missing the intrigue I look for in syrah at this point. — 10 years ago

Characteristic bell pepper, laced with spice, hit high on the intrigue factor, but I think perhaps I’d rather drink Chinon. — 7 years ago
