Didn't bring a red as we weren't planning on drink more than a btl, and that Leroy Monty did the trick, but our palates got hungry for some red, so looked at the half btl list(needed to drive back to SF) and chose this, great vintage and a solid producer. This is in a beautiful place right now, plenty of room for improvement, but complemented dinner just right. — 8 years ago
I won six bottles of Napa cab from my birth year at an auction. This was the first one I opened. Amazing how well this wine has held up over the years in unknown conditions. I was told that the previous owner was a collector. The cork was shot. I pushed it into the bottle. I then decanted through a strainer. I gotta say, right out of the bottle it was terrible. Obviously with a few hours of decanting, it improved. The nose was full of berries and smoke. The color was ruby. The taste was fantastic. Still lots of berry fruit, forest floor, leather. The finish was very long and overwhelming. My hat is off to the early farmers in Napa who pioneered this industry. — 9 years ago
We Aussies are rightly proud of our Shiraz and Shiraz blends but we have to take our hat off for a wine like this. An exercise in perfectly executed restraint. Some spice and a hint of pepper. Medium bodied. Notes made a few days later. A brilliant wine from Blue Hill at Stone Barns. 2006 vintage. — 9 years ago
Voluptuous perfume but not sweet. Few wines can pull off that trick. Plumped up our scallops. — 9 years ago
The summer seasonal made for a great gin tonic. — 10 years ago
As far as dessert wines go, I don't think I'll ever find a better wine! So delicious, like grandma's homemade jam. Very sweet tho, so only special occasions. — 10 years ago
Well 6 years does the trick. Still a surprising level of fruit but complexity has started to emerge. I think this can go another couple of years and hopefully will get better. DefinAtely not the elegance of Scallop Shelf. You wouldn't imagine this as anything but a CA Pinot which for me is a drawback. — 11 years ago
Very pleasant indeed, love. I haven't hit many grüners in my time, but you judge each wine as it comes, and this is a delightful glass. I get a scoop of grass under my crisp ripe green fruit. Its citric, acidic, and light on the oak. Fairly textbook clipped finish. It does the trick man. I won't remember the winery but I will remember that I had it and that I enjoyed it. - Ross Gardiner — 11 years ago
Jahrgang 2008! Chapeau! Deshalb liebe ich Wein! — 8 years ago

Beautifull, tension and razor sharp, pico scores the perfect hat-trick — 10 years ago
Usually Pinot Noir is not my favorite wine (not that I hat it, just not my preference, but this one is different. Lots of berry but not very sweet, more body than most but still easy to drink with or without food #adobesummit — 11 years ago

Red fruits lead into some classic and complex Rioja tertiary notes. How can I love Rioja so and yet it always seems to trick me in a blind tasting? — 8 years ago
Hat der sich entwickelt. Mega!

Hugely aromatic. On the nose a lovely sweaty leather cowboy hat with tobacco smoke. On the palette wild mushrooms growing along wet stone gravel shaded path with green moss. Perfect color. Nice acidity balance. Medium body. Medium plus finish. Special. — 9 years ago
Great stuff, opened up in 1/2 hour or so, big & rich and intense, still wild, bright acidity and lots of dark fruit, sh/ settle down in a few years — 9 years ago
Delicious and refreshing beer that is more of a flavorful lager than yet another overhopped IPA monstrosity. Tried three beers from Magic Hat and impressed most by how restraint can be crafty unto itself. — 9 years ago
Fruitier than wisbit! — 10 years ago
Domaine Henri Jayer Echézeaux 1990: Get out your Pharrell-style ranger hat because this concentrated, full-bodied #wine transports you straight to the forest with its pronounced notes of underbrush and cedar. Joining this sous-bois character are big swathes of dark fruit and traces of leather. The mile-long finish evokes cedar and bone broth, a primal revitalizer if there ever was one. Despite its quarter-century of age, it is still lively and intriguing, still moving like Jagger. — 10 years ago
Love it, cheap and cheerful and does the trick — 11 years ago
This one of Magic Hat's Best efforts, Their IPA On Tour is so far the best brews they have done, this one rates on top, nice hops and rye with some spice on the finish, like this one — 11 years ago
