Served blind . Arrogantly said after a quick smell & taste, Burgundy from 2018 , high quality village wine. WRONG! Beautiful flavors of cherry, earth and mineral. Pepper red fruits, herbs and mouthwatering acid attacked my palate. Still has structure to endure for years. — 4 months ago

Beautiful. Nice bright cherry and dark fruit, balanced tannins. Restrained Nebbiolo, a pleasure to enjoy. — 4 years ago

This is a very punchy, rich wine, likely a blend of Sangiovese with some bordeaux cépages like Cabernet. Actually works very well with rich food and has enough acidity and balance. Not our prime stuff in style but honestly was really good. — 9 months ago
Paolo Bea dinner at Semo. All wines were prepared by opening and slow-ox, prior to service. Abbreviated notes due to the setting. The 2017 Pipparello pours a garnet color with funky Montmorency cherry, red carnations, and balsamic notes. Wonderful structure and delicious with the quail. Drink now with patience through 2037. Nice wine, well rounded and fruity, good taste — 4 months ago
This wine is medium-dark ruby in the glass. I found the nose to be subdued, but notes of ripe cherries and redcurrant berries came through. I’d like to say that I noticed the effect of the chestnut barrels used, but they were half as large as the oak casks. My olfactory sense isn’t all that sharp, anyway. The palate is medium weight and a bit tart, showing raspberry and currant flavors. The tannins are medium firm and the acidity is bright. The medium finish carries tart fruit after the sip. — 5 months ago
