First up, this is made by Master Sommelier-Raj Parr & his business partner Sashi Moorman. I studied for my Sommeliers test one day with Raj.

Second, this is one of few Santa Rita Hills I like. Most are over extracted for me. IMHO, many drink like Cabernet-Pinot blends. This is not. It is more Burgundian in style.

The 2018 is starting to come around. It shows some nice evolution & integration.

Lush & ripe entry of; blackberries, dark cherries, both plums, strawberries, black raspberries, raspberries, cranberries, dry herbs are bountiful, mid, dark spice, a touch of smoke, grilled meats, moist clay, limestone, dry top soil, some menthol, eucalyptus w/ bark, mid berry cola, red, dark, blue & purple florals for days, excellent round acidity, nice; tension, structure, balance & elegant finish that lands on spice & softened earth that lasts nearly two-minutes. — 3 months ago

Pale to mid Lemon in colour. Initial notes of Vanilla Oak - a bit of leesy funk. Palate is medium plus intensity with some citrus and ripe grapefruit - generous with minerality and good length - a buttery note on the palate. An excellent new world Chardonnay from Oregon. Grapes from Red Hills Lake County. Lots of structure on top of cassis, blackberry, licorice, and cinnamon. Great concentration and consistency for Cali Cab in this range. Might be too broad shouldered for your average fruit bomber. — 10 months ago

Nose is so clean and pure. Smells like a scene in nature. Tree bark, wet soil, minerals galore. Another Burgundy ringer. Puligny for sure. Haunting complexity. Aromas just float on top of the glass. Wow. Rainwater. A pond. Moss. This nose is everything. Mint, fresh herbs. Nope I get barely any fruit which is awesome. This is a true vin de terroir. Wow. Opulent yet incisive and super pure. This is iodine city. This is so so Puligny. The iodine is the dead giveaway. What a stunning wine. As it aerates the complexity gets exponentially better. Nose is iodine city. This is so elite. Awesome concentration and purity. So complex and so compact. The minerality on this wine is insane. Holy shit. So clean on the finish. Just effortless and elite Chardonnay. What a finish!
