Dried apricots and peppered cranberries on the nose. A little dark sultry spice, like anise and nutmeg skirts the edges. A little sappy and v juicy. Fantastic acidity but everything stays brilliant and upfront. — 7 years ago
When Gavin wants to drink just the weirdest wine, you go with it. Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the complexity and fullness of both flavor and texture. Searing on the nose before it settles into some weird profile I’m not sure how to place. I will continue to try these funk-tastic wines, but keep my gushy reds on hand. — 7 years ago
Wow! Rich, textural, spiced. Feeling grateful for the opportunity to try this straight from Hungary. Lovely brightness with a deeply complex palate. Rumchata, cinnamon, savory herbs, and juniper. But relatively reserved. Serious aging ability but already showing the classic turpentine and gasoline character. I’ve used it before and I’ll use it again, love the “shoulders back”-ness on this. — 7 years ago

I adore this wine’s youthful vibrancy and verve. Beautifully balanced and prances across the palate with silky soft tannins and wonderfully integrated acidity. Gushy and leaping from the glass at first pour and then softens into round plushy shapes and simmering spice like clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg (gently though). Could age, could drink now. If I had another bottle and could hang on to it (doubtful) I’d love to see where it is in ten years. — 7 years ago
Lovely oyster shell and flint at first pour. Opens into a complex orchestra of buttered hot toast, chamomile, and laundry hanging on the line in the sun. A field of grass gone to seed and a mouthful of crystalline acidity. Gorgeous. Welcome to our new apartment! — 7 years ago

Feeling nostalgic for our trip to Ridge drinking this. Wonderfully gushy with pure fruit just the slightest hint of potting soil and something beautiful in that realm, maybe petrichor. Silky tannins and just unreal integration of structure. A wonderful expression of both PS and Zin. — 7 years ago

Loved this bright fuzzy and shimmering methode ancestral. From Saturday — 7 years ago
Extremely reductive at first pour. Sucks up oxygen like a shop vac and opens wonderfully. I am loving the muddy wet earth and red raspberries on the nose. Insane acid makes a beeline down the palate, but silky tannins are perfectly integrated and does a nice job of shrouding that with a pillowy mouth feel. Gains a sappy fresh cedar or maybe pine needle forest floor in the sunshine character. — 7 years ago
