#AgedWineTuesday
Celebrating our wedding anniversary, with a Vintage Champagne from the same year.
Light yellow in color with a golden hue.
Strong nose of bread, spices, earth, wet leaves, herbs, yeast, white pepper, lemons, yellow apples and river rocks.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and soft, small bubbles.
Dry on the palate with light citrus, over ripen apples, spices, yeast, bread, river rocks, herbs and white pepper.
Short finish with limes.
This 28 year old Champagne is still delicious, although probably on its last leg.
Showing great complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Soft and elegant.
Not much fruit is left, but enough to make it tangy and interesting.
Thank you Judy for sharing this with us.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with caviar and good friends. Very tasty, especially with the caviar.
12% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Simple meal of tortellini with homemade pesto, green beans on the side. Open a bottle of Iron Horse Native Yeast Chardonnay, and simple becomes special. — 4 years ago
Reflecting on 2019 through rosé-colored glasses. Cheers to the end of a decade and beginning of another. May 2020 bring the promise of many new adventures!
Pale salmon hue with teeny tiny bubbles racing to the top of my glass. Green apple, grapefruit peel, tart cherry, fresh raspberry, dried rose petals, blanched almonds, dusty chalk, and yeast notes. Long, elegant finish. #billecartsalmon #brutrosé #champenoise #winedown2019 #winemoments #winememoir — 4 years ago
Yet another head-spinning production from Windy Oaks. I love it when a Pinot Noir can make me want nothing more than to smell it for an hour without sipping. Leather and limestone consume the bouquet, and it's all balanced out with black cherry, mushrooms, and loamy structure. Beautifully complex, a pleasure to drink. — 4 years ago
16.5/20 (91/100) Ароматы экзотических фруктов, спелых яблок и дыни, нота молочных сливок. Тельное с высокой кислотностью, немного спиртуозно. Отличное шардоне! — 5 years ago

Starting the long Labor Day weekend in Big Sur the right way with a little N/V Krug Grande Cuvée. @Nepenthe

The palate is, ripe, lush, fresh and lively. The mouthfeel all Krug beautiful. Bruised red & golden apple with hints of cider, Bosc pear, overripe pineapple, lemon meringue, tropical melons, white stone fruits, lime zest/candy, white spice, sea fossils, crisp chalkiness, grey volcanics, yeast & bread dough, nougat, baguette crust, limestone, caramel notes, cream, cream soda, vanillin framed in yellow lilies, spring flowers & mixed greens. The acidity is near perfect. The long, elegant, well knitted & balanced finish is gentle until the long set when you get a full presence of white spice and minerality that persists for minutes.

Now, this is a Champagne worthy of my last year in my current decade.
It’s not inexpensive but, there’s a reason for that.
From the moment I put my nose to the glass, I got a a sense of warm, inviting delicacy. There is; cream, soft ginger, fall green apples, mango, guava, slightly sour lemons, lime zest/candy, perfectly, ripe pineapple, white peach, green melons, lightly bruised pear, marmalade jam, as soft as white spice can be, grey volcanics, good chalkiness, vanillin, sea spray, lovely, melted caramel notes, yeast, bread dough to baguette crust, non funky cheese rind, toast, silvered almonds to nut skin with white & lilies, jasmine and spring flowers.
The palate enters like Tango dancers & cross-fades into ballet. Perfect richness, mousse & micro-oxygenation with gentle, absolute, perfect acidity. The minerality is fine, delicate & straight up in my wheelhouse. Cream, understated, melted butter, ginger, fall, Granny Smith apples, mango, guava, slightly sour lemons, lime zest/ peel/candy, perfectly, ripe pineapple, white peach, peach, tangerine, green melons, lightly bruised pear, some apple cider, marmalade jam, honeysuckle, herbaceousiness, a shade of mint, as soft as white spice can be, delicate, grey volcanics with limestone, good chalkiness, vanillin, sea spray, lovely, melted caramel notes, yeast, bread dough to baguette crust, non funky cheese rind, toast, silvered almonds to nut skin with, orange blossoms, white & lilies, jasmine and spring flowers. The long, amazing, well balanced finish is simply Mozart.
The 02 is a blend of 39% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay & 21% Pinot Meunier. This bottle spent at least 12 years in Krug's cellars, receiving its cork in autumn 2014.

Biscuits, yeast, and some nice dryness on top of a beautiful color. Thanks Romes! — 4 years ago
EnRoute, established 2007 in Russian River Valley by the partners of Napa’s Far Niente winery. An outstanding wine, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe fruit flavors with subtle notes of earth and spice. On the palate cherry and ripe red plum, savory with gentle herb spice. Smooth fine ripe tannins, well balanced on long finish ending with perfect earthy character. Very Nice! — 5 years ago
Love it.. Best red so far — 6 years ago
This Champagne was disgorged 10-1013. The Bollinger Granda Année never disappoints! She is the quite beauty in the black dress with the grey pearls, intriguing, complex, soft. Has a lovely floral, pair, green apple nose, the mousse is fine, precise, the flavors posses same complexity as the nose, it is crisp, far from austere finish. — 7 years ago
This is a rich and creamy Champagne with a lively mousse, giving it a forward fruit character. Slowly the depth and concentration of the wine come through, with a white fruit flavor and hints of grapefruit and toasty yeast, which all promising good aging. — 8 years ago
Delicate Barbaresco that gains some strength with air. Red cherry aromas that turn floral with time, this is far from a blockbuster, but it is elegant. — 9 years ago
