Pure as freshly fallen snow. Apricot preserves, orange cream, and honeysuckle give way to almond extract and a touch of lemon zest. Long, mellow finish. — 8 years ago
A terrific example of an older vintage of Realm, I think this might be the first year they sourced grapes from the Dr Crane vineyard. Classic Napa cab with aromas of blackberry, cassis, hints of leather, and an undercurrant of vanilla still prevalent from the barrel ageing. Initially the wine exhibited firm tannins on the palate, but after an hour they soften up considerably...and after another 30 min they had really fallen away. The wine stayed in balance and is drinking well, but I suspect this is starting on the downslope. If you have any in your cellar, I'd suggest opening them up within the next couple of years. Terrific wine from Juan and his team at Realm! — 9 years ago
Grilled lemon, smoky roses, clove, blood orange, mushroom and fallen tree, dark raspberry olfactively speaking. Rose petals, cedar, red apple skins, orange bitters, smoky pineapple, raspberry, tart cherry, plum. Lovely tannins and an amazing mineral finish that keeps you revisiting this texturally perfect wine. — 9 years ago

Enjoying in Ferry Bldg before Giants game!!! — 11 years ago
Not Bordeaux’s greatest vintage, however the wine was well cellared and served as a fun dive into Medoc with a friend who is passionate about the region.
Soft stewed fruit, but the wine was more so driven by an immediate rush of sweet milk chocolate on the nose upon opening / decanting. Structured, but palate was largely earth-driven with fallen leaves, wet earth, and iron. A wine that is clearly on the back 9, having its prime drinking window behind it. Fun wine to sip in the afternoon and enjoy a day off.
Enjoyed with a soft, brainy lobe of tempered Langres fromage. — 7 years ago
I’ve rated this many times before and will simply state that this is an absolutely wonderful Grand Cru Rosé that @Martin G Rivard introduced me to! Thank you, Martin!

This 2014 gem was the perfect start to the Mayacama comeback weekend. Ample fruit, acid, length...fighting, fencing, giants, true love! Things can only get better. — 8 years ago
I’m not familiar with Tempranillo, so I am unsure what its specific contribution to the wine is. I can only compare the wine to the Brothers and Sisters cabernet I’ve recently fallen in love with.
By George shares the same elegance as its sister wine, with a more savoury core, eschewing some sweetness and vibrancy, for darker more brooding flavours. Dark plum, cherry and dried blueberry fruits set the scene, but it’s the smoky cured meats, volcanic rock, cedar and tobacco on the mid and back palate that bring the party to life. It’s a flavour profile I haven’t encountered before, but I like it a lot. The soft tannins are well integrated, the balance slightly acidic, but not objectionable, lending a lingering spiciness to the finish.
Another Fox Gordon masterpiece. The love affair continues… — 9 years ago
2007 in 2016. Integrated, but some of the fruit has fallen. Blackberry, boysenberries, a touched aged leather. Medium body — 9 years ago

So much better than expected. The acid had fallen off a bit but the texture was reminiscent of older Sancerre and overall quite pleasant. Drinking the cellar dry so we had to try it! — 7 years ago
